How Much Does #MarchMadness Mean to the #NBA Draft? A lot would be an understatement. One Final Four run can skyrocket a prospect. Even one good game can evlevate a prospect. And even, one shot!, can give a prospect a bump 🏀 open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...

When people ask me what route in 🏀 they should take… one of my first questions is, “What are you passionate about?” Too many people try to take the route they think will land the job rather than taking the route they are excited about. #MarchMadness #nba #ncaa open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...

When it comes to getting a job in professional sports, you will hear a lot of, “Resumes don’t matter!” Your resume does matter AND some people do get jobs because of their direct connection. Don’t give up on yourself because of how a particular situation went down open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...

One of the first things we say in a class is, get to know your classmates. Your best opportunities in life are going to come through peers, not necessarily the GM/FO member you are trying to network w It’s about building relationships laterally, not just vertically open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...

When I was helping hire Interns for the Portland Trail Blazers, one of the things our Ast General Manager would tell us… “Find someone who will play pickup ball with us, find someone who wants to be in the Fantasy Football League, find someone you will like being around.”

Too many people take the approach of, “It’s my dream to work in the @NBA & I’ll do anything!” rather than “It’s my dream to work in the NBA & these are the skills I have to help elevate your organization.” 🏀 #nba #basketball #sports #work #internships #ncaa open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...
