How Much Does #MarchMadness Mean to the #NBA Draft? A lot would be an understatement. One Final Four run can skyrocket a prospect. Even one good game can evlevate a prospect. And even, one shot!, can give a prospect a bump 🏀 open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...

When people ask me what route in 🏀 they should take… one of my first questions is, “What are you passionate about?” Too many people try to take the route they think will land the job rather than taking the route they are excited about. #MarchMadness #nba #ncaa open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...

When it comes to getting a job in professional sports, you will hear a lot of, “Resumes don’t matter!” Your resume does matter AND some people do get jobs because of their direct connection. Don’t give up on yourself because of how a particular situation went down open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...

One of the first things we say in a class is, get to know your classmates. Your best opportunities in life are going to come through peers, not necessarily the GM/FO member you are trying to network w It’s about building relationships laterally, not just vertically open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...

When I was helping hire Interns for the Portland Trail Blazers, one of the things our Ast General Manager would tell us… “Find someone who will play pickup ball with us, find someone who wants to be in the Fantasy Football League, find someone you will like being around.”

Network, network, network! And although, I agree, networking is somewhat of a must...what really matters is being likable. You could network with a 1,000 people and come away w nothing. You could connect with one person who likes you & get a job offer 🏀 #nba open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...

Salary Cap Research: Are Teams Waiving Fewer Players On Non-Guaranteed Salaries?

Today's guarantee deadline came and went with few waivers. It feels like January 7 has been getting quieter each year, so I checked my data since the 2021-22 season to see if that's true.

A question I often get is, “If the odds of getting an NBA are so low, why even try?” It’s a fair question. One I think each individual should count the cost of. It’s not as easy as 'Yes, you definitely should!' or 'No, you definitely should not!' #nba #basketball open.substack.com/pub/getinthe...
