Interesting read for sure, but I had to chuckle here. Diplomat, Investor, what’s the difference really 😃
Growing up, I had dreams of becoming a diplomat because I believed the US-China relationship was going to be the largest and most interesting surface area of the next hundred years. Though I'm not a diplomat (yet), I did spend a decade as an investor at a firm with one foot in the US and one in Asia.

Tonight I took the car and drove across all of Kyiv, just to see how my beloved city feels at this time. It’s a strange feeling.

Yeah, a bit too much focus on established characters and not enough time allocated to develop all all the new ones. I do enjoy the season so far still, albeit with less enthusiasm than for earlier ones.

It's quite something, right? I'd really love to be a fly in those marketing meetings where they came up with these scenarios as the best mix of "reality" (lol) and "tech showcase"

That there is no one in the whole organization who could say: "Ladies. Gentlemen. These examples do look quite desperate, if I may so myself. Do we have anything actually useful to show, or should we, perchance, skip this during the presentation?" is so, so very Corporate America in 2026, too.

Scenario 3: Using AI & wearables to recall what a waiter just told you instead of… politely asking them to please say that again!? You are the guest, they are the host. They would gladly do that!? This is so ridiculous!

Scenario 2: Using AI to auto-translate an encounter with a friendly stranger in a public place, instead of… idk… just act friendly and take or refuse the damn flyer lol

Scenario 1: Asking AI to recall a recipe from an older message is one thing, but then going to the market and asking AI to choose the right fruit instead of… idk… maybe talking to the fruit vendor?!

Three observations from yesterday's Apple Event that show how detached Silicon Valley people are from normal life and how they want to force technology on everyday interactions, always searching for things to solve that need no solving 🫠

You’ll find that some “uncharted waters” are actually well charted but the people driving the boat are not interested in looking at maps, because wrecking ships is just part of nautical culture.

Reading a NL about AI & Design Systems and of course it‘s written by AI. The paragraph still looks normal. The sentences build upon each other. It stops being an engaging read altogether. 😑
A teammate renames one variant. Someone pastes a hex value over a colour token because the token picker was two clicks away. A hover state gets lost during a cleanup. None of that shows up as a red flag. The file still opens. The component still renders. It just quietly stops being what you agreed it would be.

„A.I. models have become increasingly capable. The test examines their ability to do common freelance tasks, like building a mobile video game.“ Since when would this be a common freelance task lol. And nobody needs more mobile video game slop, there’s enough already ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

„To those in the A.I. industry, adding huge data centers is akin to outfitting a car with a jet engine.“ That’s a weird metaphor as a car with a jet engine is most probably inoperable or at least neither efficient nor good to handle
