Oh what a lovely idea! I got inspired and made one with pictures from our #chemsky lab 🤗 🏳️‍🌈
Pride Flag made from snippets of lab photos: red crystals or Cobalt complex, orange liquid in round bottom flask, yellow tubes, green chunky Crystals of iron(IV) complex, blue agar plates from CAS assay for siderophores, and purple star shaped crystals. Black and white crystals, numbers from bioinformatics pipeline, fluorescent baby blue substance, pink holmium oxide, clear reagent tubes, yellow bubbly liquid, purple ring with crystals. Right corner it reads @Daumannlab

Influence of Rare Earth Elements on Prebiotic Reaction Networks Resembling the Biologically Relevant Krebs Cycle
Rare earth elements can act as mediators in a prebiotic reaction network, producing various intermediates of the citric acid cycle starting from glyoxylate and pyruvate. The ionic radius and the resu...

#chemsky here is our recent preprint on cyclic lanthanide-binding peptides. @sophieguti.bsky.social @hhu.de and our collaborators @hzdr.bsky.social and @kit.edu have put in an immense amount of analytical work to understand binding in these peptides. Check it out! We even snuck some #curium in 🤓🧪

Influence of Rare-Earth-Elements on Prebiotic Reaction Networks Resembling the Biologically Relevant Krebs Cycle | ChemRxiv - doi.org/10.26434/che... by @joguti.bsky.social is our groups first contribution to the OoL field! We would love some feedback #chemsky 🤓🧪
Reaction network arising from the La3+-catalyzed reaction of glyoxylate and pyruvate, including non-detected intermediates with the most probable routes represented by arrows requiring either one or both of the reactants are shown. Some can be deteced by GC-MS others only by NMR, some by both.
