So why did I write under a pseudonym? And what inspired me to write #AuthorLife? I answered some questions...!! 😀

I never intended to have an account that was ONLY about my book - I fully meant to post other things too. But time, and life... I'm sorry, but #AuthorLife is all I have the energy to do right now. 😂😭 I'm grateful to the readers who are sharing their thoughts!

There's nothing better than ending the week with a review from a satisfied reader! I love seeing how people - publishing folx AND readers - relate to this book. Have a great weekend - do something nice for yourself!

I get to do one of those "vague good news" posts! I guess that's all I can say... 😂

Joe Zagets @joezagets-author.bsky.social · 13/07/2026

It's incredibly exciting to see ARC pics of #AuthorLife! Readers gonna read, as they say... 😀 "Writing novels wasn't supposed to be a blood sport" 😈

An irreverent thrill ride with an amazingly unlikable main character. I LOVED it!! Spoiler free review: www.pagesfromthemist.com/2026/07/revi... Thanks to @badhandbooks.bsky.social for providing an eARC to review.

Let's finish off the week with another blurb - mega thanks to @tonywirt.com! So far it's been unanimously true that people in publishing love reading about people in publishing...and hopefully that will extend to book lovers too. 🤞

I'm very grateful for the authors who have stepped forward to blurb my "scandalous" little book. 😂 Thank you so much to @tgwood505.bsky.social for her ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!! On sale Sept. 22 from @badhandbooks.bsky.social

WRITING NOVELS WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE A BLOOD SPORT... It's true - my main character Mack is kind of a jerk...and yet his struggles as an author are universal. On sale 9/22 from @badhandbooks.bsky.social & available everywhere for preorder. Huge thank you to @alexgrecian.bsky.social for the blurb!

I keep seeing posts like this so I thought it would be fun to conjure one for #AUTHORLIFE. I think the exclamation marks really add something. ❗😁 Coming Sept. 22 from @badhandbooks.bsky.social

Massive thanks to @tonywirt.com for this new blurb! This baby hits the shelves in six more months!

This is only the second Kim Stanley Robinson book I've read (the first was the excellent SHAMAN). So far, this book is rather bleak -- will it stay that way??

Joe Zagets @joezagets-author.bsky.social · 04/03/2026

I've been a bit quiet here, but things are going to start to heat up now that we're six months out from pub day. Very grateful to @tgwood505.bsky.social for this enthusiastic blurb! Pre-order now from @badhandbooks.bsky.social

I've been negligent in actually posting a pic of JUST the cover of my book. Mega-thanks to @jeremyjohnparker.bsky.social for such a great cover! Available for pre-order at @badhandbooks.bsky.social

A blurb and the pre-order link...this is getting REAL!

Joe Zagets @joezagets-author.bsky.social · 26/08/2025

IT'S OFFICIAL! (And it's oddly fitting that after writing a satire about the publishing industry, they spell my name wrong in the announcement. 😉) Coming 2026! Personally, I think this book is hilarious...but obviously I am biased.

A Novel

Current read! This is a very interesting - and timely - book. And it gives a much more comprehensive (and necessary) definition for "cult" than what we usually think of.

010

Joe Zagets @joezagets-author.bsky.social · 20/06/2025

Interestingly, I haven't read this particular novel about writers - but for a good reason: At the time when it was published I was working on my own little satire about authors, and I didn't want any of YELLOWFACE to bleed accidentally into my book. It's probably safe to read it now!

020

Joe Zagets @joezagets-author.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

Ready for another novel about writers?? Do readers love books about writers as much as authors do?? 🤔

010

Joe Zagets @joezagets-author.bsky.social · 10/06/2025

This just moved to the top of my TBR list! Another novel about writers...and it sounds so good!! (And the cover is literal 🔥🔥🔥)

020

Joe Zagets @joezagets-author.bsky.social · 09/06/2025

Continuing with my theme of novels about writers... Hmm, is there a reason I'm so fixated on this?? 🤔

010

Joe Zagets @joezagets-author.bsky.social · 07/06/2025

You may start seeing a theme develop here...it isn't a coincidence that I enjoy novels about writers. 😉

I'm late to the game (story of my life) - but better late than never, right? I really need to read the rest of S.A. Cosby's books!!

Joe Zagets @joezagets-author.bsky.social · 04/06/2025

Anybody else love books about writers??
