A beautiful 'mid-latitude cyclone' is forming in the north Pacific right now that will change our weather pattern next week. Don't worry, I'll explain what that term means. This our typical delivery system for moisture in the PNW. Cooler and wetter weather is coming as we transition into fall.

Hurricane Lowell has hammered Hawaii. But that's not the only interesting thing going on here. It was part of an unusual trio of hurricanes out in the Pacific that was made more likely by the extreme El Nino waters we are monitoring. Today the cleanup is underway, fortunately only one person died.

On August 23rd I followed a thunderstorm for 7hrs in eastern Alberta. The lightning was so intense, this is part 2 of the action. I got more jolts and bolts on film that night than I know what to do with. But man, what epic lightning. But I best warn you not to watch if you have seizures!
