a S31 operative. He becomes much more important later on. The bulk of the ep is about rescuing Tilly with an odd jump by the ship. It's a bit of a deus ex machina, but in rescuing Tilly, they also resurrect Culber. This is where the season arc crystallizes for me. Good episode, and nice visuals.

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 20 - Saints of Imperfection Various plot points are pushed forward including the Search for Spock. The big part is we find out that Emperor Georgiou has joined up with Section 31 (masquerading as Prime Georgiou). We also get introduced to Leland, who is

RIP Levelord. Will miss ya buddy. As good of a friend you were in the 90's when we worked together, you were super nice to my wife and then later my kids as well. Will never EVER forget that. Tweaked your most famous easter egg a little. Hope you don't mind Rich. #RIPLevelord

Rebecca Romjin (OG was Majel Barrett). We also get a generic "space thing" trapping the ship and they don't know why.. and Saru is battling an illness which has massive Kelpian repercussions. A lot going on this ep, including setup for the major season arc of "Control". This all hung together well.

This is new (to me). I didn't know BlueSky could do this. If someone quotes one of your posts, you can go to their post and remove your post from theirs, "detaching it". That's kind of cool, wish I knew about that sooner.

I do have to confess it was a rough start. The first couple of eps of Season 1 I didn't care for, but once it got rolling it was primo Trek. S2 was spectacular. I'm in the states, so Netflix for me - can't recall if I had ads or not right now. But ultimately it doesn't matter, because...

Hello old friend. One of the first games ever released when I worked for @apogeeent.com in 93 pops up again on the Nintendo Switch - Bio Menace. Love the old 90's side scrollers. Brought back to life by @rigelgameworks.bsky.social. Need to see if the old "Apogee Room" is still in here. Fun times.

Was looking around a list of albums that turned 50 this year, and saw there was some absolutely epic shit. So I went and made a list of albums that I knew of, made a playlist by picking one song off each. Holy crap is it an epic list. It instantly transported me back to my pre-teen and early teen

Nah, it's not that important. I did notice they changed the aspect ratio after Season 1, but I'm not a stickler for that. I've done all the other treks too, so there's a lot of 4:3 title cards too. :)

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 18 - Point of Light I wish Frakes directed this - was much better ep than the last. Mirror Georgiou pops up, along with Ash Tyler, now working for Section 31. We also get into a power struggle in the Klingon empire with L'Rell getting into hot water

We worked together back at Apogee/3DR for a few years mostly on Duke Nukem 3D. Such a fun time in my life. We stayed in touch long after he left to found Ritual. Many dinners together with local crew. So many memories. So sad from this, but I know what cancer does. Much love to the Gray family.

Rarity of 9. All 9 are Texas Rangers. Only had two choices in Gonzalez square. Him and Ken Caminiti. Ken was an even worse score - I looked afterwards. :( Podsednik was drafted by the Rangers and traded away as a PTBNL (for Bobby Witt Sr) before getting to majors.

I did love the inclusion of this. When they were trying to get old tech to work, we heard a sound effect used many many times in the original series for trying to tune in a communicator or ar radio or something along those lines.

they investigate. While that's the main plot, it kind of feels like filler - the other stuff was more interesting to me. Which included Tilly working on a new spore drive interface. The main plot is about a religious cult that I didn't find interesting. A Frakes directed ep I didn't care for.

We get Tig Notaro's Jett Reno introduced here. She's a delight. I wish she was a regular and not just recurring. I also loved the new security character here - Naan. Must confess, thought she was cute. Overall, it's not a "big" ep, it's a big setup for the season arc, but I liked the slower pace.

Joe Siegler @joesiegler.blog · 12/10/2026

#StarTrekMarathon #StarTrek Discovery Episode 16 - Brother The first ep of s2 spends most of its time setting up the various pieces that comprise the S2 arc ("The Red Angel"). That's Pike as captain of Discovery, Burnham and her relationship with Spock, and of course the USS Enterprise NCC-1701.

Rarity of 20. All 9 are Texas Rangers. Today I suffer for the bit. I only had two choices in the Beltran square, and the other I used right below that. But at least I stuck to the bit. :)

Joe Siegler @joesiegler.blog · 09/10/2026

One side note - I love Tilly. Her giving the Terran salute to Georgiou when she realizes she's actually the "Terran Emperor" made me laugh out loud way too much. Adore Mary Wiseman on this show. This is a fairly serious ep, so the random insertion of comedy hit even harder than it normally would.

star Clint Howard makes an appearance . There's some good action with the end of the war, setting up the new Klingon leadership for S2 of the show. Didn't care for fake Georgiou, actually - an odd feel. The mission succeeds (seeing Discovery INSIDE a planet was cool). A familiar ship at the end. :)

odd thing. I know where the character goes in the long run, but here they're using her as a military expert of sorts. This is basically a setup ep for the finale. Not officially a two parter, but come on... It doesn't feel like much action happens here - it's very talky. Still enjoyed it, though.

Love the scenes with Yeoh & Martin-Green. Given I thought Yeoh was going to be a series regular, and then she wasn't, I wanted more of her. As it's a 3/4, this is a transitional ep, building towards a finale. A lot of time with Stamets here. We also find out "our" Lorca is from mirror universe.
