Like 15 years ago, lifting with @xgibran.bsky.social and attempting a PR, he said "You can't fail, you're being recorded" while pointing the camera at me. I chuckled and did pull the PR. Since that day, almost everytime the weight on the bar feels heavy I remember that moment, laugh and pull hard.

I didn't consider the technique was a carry through from the Oly days, but yeah, It might be. The alternating grip I've done for a while! I always thought it would be more "even", since I rarely use straps. Its a bit silly, I dont think it makes any real difference.

To end it, I talk a bit about how gooners are portrayed as losers in mainstream media, when in reality, queer gooners are usually very embodied people, often creatives, many in performing arts. Often gender non-conforming. A real community is increasingly being forged through group bating/gooning.

We wrote a 8-page Guide to Gooning together comparing group gooning to musical jams with beautiful art by @osetesur.bsky.social. We wanted to portray edging and gooning as practice, similar to playing an instrument. @nsns.bsky.social absolutely nailed the centerfold. Link batorsex.com/sneak-peaks/

The first Bate Jam spread on zine 5. Shows the first section "Set up". On black letters the "musical theory", on green letters there's a story of 4 guys that meet for a shared bate in a house party and represents each of the concepts on the "musical theory part applied to getting to a flow state.

The illustration by osetes shows a black guy sitting on a low chair with a hard on, next to him a brown hairy guy and a light brown guy with asian features sit on a couch, legs interlocked smiling and looking at him. On the floor, sitting crosslegged holding a cup, a redheadeaded person also looks at him.

A collage by nosoxosex. One male figure lays back on another's arms, giving in ecstasy, its body overlayed with a double bass, evoking that he's being played like an instrument. Dicks, hands and chords are collaged together on top.

Watched Vice's Documentary "Wild Goon Chase" this morning. I enjoyed it, but it only covers porn gooners. They didn't talk to anyone who goons together on cam or in-person.
