We dropped something into our friends at Field of Dreams Cork... all will be revealed tomorrow #CCFC84
A horizontal white sign stands on a dry, grassy lawn under bright daylight.
The left side of the sign features text reading "Down Syndrome Cork" in a purple arch over a colorful logo. The logo is a green and purple watercolor circle enclosing a silhouette of two people gardening, with the words "FIELD OF DREAMS" written inside in large, white, playful lettering.
The center of the sign reads "A partnership project with" in purple text.
The right side displays a circular blue and gold crest for the "Munster Agricultural Society, Est. 1805," which features three animal heads: a bull, a horse, and a sheep.
The sign is mounted on two grey metal posts. In the background, green trees, a metal shelving unit with potted plants, and the front of a white car are visible under a blue sky with light clouds.

Irish Times adding a €1 a week charge to newspaper deliveries doesn't seem the wisest, particularly for subscribers like us who only get a Saturday paper delivered. The selling point before was it was brought to your door for the same cover charge as buying in the shop.

The median newspaper columnist writing about bike infrastructure is like, "I once had to park 150 feet away from the coffee shop so I talked to 2 other drivers, a failing restaurant owner, and a person who once saw a cyclist run a stop sign about how bike lanes ruined our lives."

That Harry Styles song is so apt you'd almost wonder if he had "BBC montage when England go out of the World Cup" in mind when he wrote it.

In the old job I once shadowed a political leader as they visited a number of businesses, including a playschool. During the visit they were encouraged to sit at a desk for a nice photo. They repeatedly - politely but insistently - declined, much to the disappointment of those suggesting it. 1/2

Not heading to Kerry? Coughlan's will be showing the City match this afternoon - check out the new addition to their decor while you're there... 👀
This image features a vertical display of Cork sports and culture memorabilia against a light-colored, wood-paneled wall.
At the top, a framed red and black vertically striped soccer jersey is prominently displayed. It features the logo of the iconic Cork indie-punk band The Sultans of Ping F.C. across the chest, with the O'Neills brand mark and a crest above it. This specific jersey was a limited-edition charity release by the band and the FORAS supporters' trust to benefit Down Syndrome Cork. Directly above this frame is a classic circular red fire alarm bell.
Below the jersey hangs a smaller framed commemorative poster with the bold headline "CORK DOUBLE CHAMPIONS 1990." The poster honors the historic year the Cork GAA teams won both the All-Ireland Senior Hurling and Senior Football titles—a feat achieved by only a few counties. It includes team photos and detailed text celebrating the "Double." The setting is Coughlan's Bar which hosted the jersey's official launch.

Ireland's small towns growing in population but shrinking in opportunity
Independent urban towns are in a different level of social crisis to the rest of the country — unemployment at 5.9%, the highest of any area type, 17% at risk of poverty, and 20% of their households reliant on social welfare

Our friends in Coughlan's on Douglas Street will be showing our match away at Finn Harps tonight, all welcome as always #ccfc84
This image shows the exterior of Coughlan's Bar, a traditional three-story red-brick building.
Ground Floor: Features a dark storefront with the name "COUGHLAN" in gold lettering. There is a large central window with black metal railings, flanked by two doorways. The entrance on the left is open, revealing posters inside. A stone base at the bottom is inscribed with "WINE AND SPIRIT STORE."
Upper Floors: The second and third stories are made of weathered red brick with decorative cream-colored stone accents around the windows. There are three sash windows on each level. Green ivy grows up the left side and hangs across the top of the pub's signage.
Surroundings: To the left is a white wall with various signs, including one for a "Heated Beer Garden." To the right is a plain grey building. The scene is set under an overcast sky on a paved sidewalk.
