We had our first sea turtle nest in our survey area! Of course, it was a Leatherback. I can never get enough of seeing Leatherback tracks/nests, as they are almost always a perfect example of art found in nature. Do not touch these. These are blue sea dragons; sea slugs that float upside down on the ocean’s surface. They eat deadly Portuguese man-o-war & steal their stinging cells. Their bodies are covered in the weapons of their vanquished prey. If you touch them you will be stung by a man-o-war ghost. 🧪🌿

A long thin worm shaped animal work pairs of hand-like fronds emerging from its sides. There are three pairs of fronds, the largest pair at the thickest front side of the anima, the smaller pair at the end by the thin tail.
