I've heard so much hype for this from various social circles over the past 10 years, I'll finally give the new edition of this game a chance. (And probably sell it when it doesn't live up to expectations.)

Stopped this "classic" by "Martin Wallace" from being sold too cheaply on eBay by buying it myself. There's some logic to this, I'm sure. At least it encouraged a post-storm walk to the post office in the sunshine.

What gives a board game a soul? We answer this question absolutely and definitively in our latest board game podcast about all things 18xx.
Screenshot from a Discord server:

Lovely episode as always.

Haha. "Lovely" is an unexpected adjective, but I'll take it!

I'd agree with lovely. i havent heard most of the backlog, so im not sure if all the eps are like this one, but it was great. the constant shifts in tone, background music, flavor etc was at first a bit jarring/distracting, but man i grew to love it. it felt like much more of a visual experience than an audio one. nothing quite like it out there and of course appreciated the comments on 18india. well done

It feels to me like the most serious/profound board game criticism, yet I can never really tell how serious/sincere anything is and if it’s all just some kind of parody or not.Cover for The Train Rush episode, "The Tracks of my Tears."
