A couple of memorable moments from the parade. First, while shaking hands during the parade, I offered my hand to a guy who said he was a Republican. I said I will shake hands with everyone. Then I followed that up with "Heck, I will give you hug."

If my friend’s parents faced the kind of crushing rent increases happening in Brandondale, they would be homeless. Everyone has inherent dignity and worth. Havenpark Communities is draining that dignity right out of Chaska, Carver County, and Minnesota.

They have hiked lot rents so high and so fast that families have been forced out of their homes. Those who stay are struggling just to keep up. Manufactured housing is one of the critical sources of affordable housing in our community. Squeezing residents like this is wrong.

With the SC's ruling on Little v. Hecox, we're looking at a different landscape for sports at every level. It’s a complex issue with a lot of strong viewpoints, but regardless of where the law stands, our baseline doesn't change: everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.
