Yes. The goal is to fix society so it all works. Imagine that Tom. Seeing problems and fixing them versus saying "well sorry poors that just the way it is". Ah you are an anti-Trumper but can't give up your conservative roots that just hates helping people. How you like Star Trek - a socialist

JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
No they actually do. Incarceration rates don't match racial demographics but when you look at violent crime it's closer and when you look at commissions of crimes and victims it matches racial demographics. But many white murderers receive life sentences versus the death penalty

They have never been about governance. Government is only a tool to advance the wealthy to them (well and to oppress the out groups). And every thing else they sabotage and then point to the hobbled piece as why government fails.

JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Your argument is hinged on either thinking property tax contributions to a school only come from the local area or "inner-city" to you means the city limits which are not overwhelming poor anywhere and generally have vast combined resources
010
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
What? No. Wrong. I live in Atlanta. The entire property taxes from multi-million dollar mansions to blue collar homes go into the same fund that goes to schools in rich and poor areas. You are incorrect on how the system works in that regard
110
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Boring. I gave ratios. You talk like a bot. Or a foreign agent not an American. I give you one last chance what did the US federal government spend on education versus the defense budget as a ratio. I'll wait

JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Do you understand the venue? Your responses are trite and dismissive and ignoring the clear and factual content. But you refuse to engage on facts that the US has never ever made a serious attempt to fix these problems not on a financial or social scale. This whole overall thread reflects it.

JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
how they are supposed to be and fixing them is a waste of time. A combination of classism, racism, eugenics, religion, etc
010
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Shit I live in Atlanta and have a Master's in Science and would happily teach a different school in ND every hour to give them access and fly up once a semester to meet the kids but you know "can't be done". It's always a basic assumption that things are they way they are because that's
110
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Exactly. But fixing the problem would require sacrifice from some and mostly people who have generations of capital and they say "fuck you" oh I'm sorry they say "We just can't fix this problem"
120
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
get shitty educations and call the whole problem "impossible". Sure I'll argue a lot of liberals think unicorns will shit rainbows on the country but the idealism is usually closer to reality
010
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Ah yes again the conservative mentality. We can't fly. We can't reach the moon. We can't get information like a telecorder in our pocket. Every problem is impossible if you decide it is and make no true effort. Conservatives just want to invest in stocks and let poor people
110
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Um no. It's literal facts. And if you think the above you are a very unserious person. Unfocused? Bullshit. Inaccurate? Nope. Hyperbolic? Not at all. Please be aware of reality if you want to have a discussion. I don't have time to teach you about how the actual world works like a toddler
010
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
And let's not forget giving the country to the oligarchy and not gaining appropriate revenue. Minimum corporate tax of 20%. Can't be reduced below that. 90% billionaire tax. 70% 10 million tax. Surcharge for each employee accepting government benefits. Shall I continue?
110
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
The US throws pennies at these problems and millions at bombing nations. Please be serious.

The geographics and demographics of Canada are vastly different. The only area you can argue it's maybe similar in the US is Appalachia (and probably Indian reservations)
000
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
necessary than Education
000
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
What would your solution have been at a time when the entire country was integrating vastly different systems? An education czar? A Congressional Committee? What run it under Interior? What paradigm fit what needed to happen? I'd argue there are probably 3-4 Departments that are way less

JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
and experiencing that environment daily exposed me to things I never would have known. And I mean the general neighborhood not the school

JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
I was a magnet school kid so I was a self-chosen bussed kid and it was probably one of the best and most informative experiences of my life. My high school was across the city in a "high-crime" area and our racial balance was required to be 50/50. All the kids were amazing and successful
120
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
I mean those are spread over wide regions. It's not like your school is only funded by district property taxes. False argument
100
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
Generally this is because schools in those areas are often under capacity so the overhead is split up less. But if you look at most instructional matters that's far from true
010
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
So solve those problems too. Geography and even general economic status shouldn't define opportunity. That's the point conservatives always miss. They just say "shucks well that's the way it's always been" it's literally the name of their philosophy
120
JoeKnows @joe-knows.bsky.social · 10/10/2026
I think like most conservatives you have a failure of imagination and disbelief in progress. You were the person on a horse laughing at someone driving a Model T. Or telling the Wright brothers human's can't fly. What you describe is not about fairness it's a failure of commitment
