I only trust magicians when they're practicing within their expertise.

The important thing is that it's not FDA approved and it's recommended by a chiropractor.

Some providers have it but leave it off by default because token use within an org typically follows a power law distribution. Others just don't have it. And there are a lot of resellers who will resell a provider that does have it, but don't have it themselves.

They've finally realized who their most reliable audience is: Retirees who see their grandkids every other Christmas.

You could pre-generate greebled Wang tiles, and tile those dynamically.

Turns out cops and bootlickers don't like Flock cameras either if someone else controls them.

Russia is maybe worse right now, but the current government is only pretending to treat them as an adversary.

The "turbo cancer" they keep claiming COVID vaccines caused isn't a thing, but they're going to inject themselves full of compounds that have only been tested in rats and make it a thing.

If the chelation craze had hit after that rather than before it, it might have done some good. The wellness grifters are now moving to research peptides, so in a few years mild lead poisoning will be the least of their problems.

I once watched a former multi-decade C++ developer suggest replacing an underperforming Python protobuf client with a Go tool, and a 20-something kid insisted on using C++ due to its "superior type system" and the disgust on his face was palpable.

The US Government imposed export controls on Mythos and forbade them from granting access to anyone who is not a US citizen located in the US. That even applies to Australians.

How? I'm pretty sure that turning raw beef into brisket doesn't reduce the mass by 93%.

Sounds like business school dogma about gross margins. "We're cancelling your product and laying you off because you're slightly less profitable than the rest of the business" is a bizarrely common event.

I’m seeing a new allergist-immunologist and today he brought up this study about how much Astepro nasal spray, which I use daily, appears to decrease the likelihood of COVID, flu, RSV, etc. I have barely gotten a cold since I started using it but had no idea why. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...

The "printing human bodies stuff" is way easier to believe than the idea that the propagandists for a cult of personality would betray that personality to get a good story out in the public interest. I'd love to see it happen though.

Mickey 17 asks us to suspend a lot of disbelief, and I have no problem with that for a sci-fi movie, but... (spoiler ahead)

My kid has zero physical textbooks and submits writing assignments via Google Classroom and somehow has a backpack just as overstuffed as I had at that age, just for the notebooks, which I bought at the smallest sizes on the teachers' supply lists. It's like Gates's Law for wide ruled paper.

"Choosin' Texas" is the sort of "identity as aesthetic" kind of thing that white people who feel insufficiently represented in popular media can't get enough of, and ruined country music 25 years ago.

To prep for job interviews I've been vibe-coding a shared reminder app, which is the sort of composition of existing ideas that AI is quite good at, but it's extremely funny watching it contemplate the possibility that someone in my household might take my medicine or brush my teeth.

I just got an almost certainly fake recruiter email, and I'm extremely tempted to fuck with them, but I can't figure out what the scam is yet. Anyone know what the hot recruiter scams are these days?

He switched to old school punk and both my cats went to the door to listen, so my cats have good taste, which honestly is a bit surprising given that they're only 2 and one has butt rock vibes and the other has middle school orchestra vibes.

From 15,000 to 185 to Zero: Trump’s Claims of Illegal Voting in Nevada Fizzle
It was the Trump administration’s latest stumble in its effort to find proof of widespread noncitizen voting, despite decades of evidence that it is extremely rare.

Also, cats are less likely to use them than dogs, and I've got a rather vocal and a rather quiet cat, so my best case scenario is probably that only the vocal one uses them.

I was suspicious that a lot of those videos were influencer sponcon, so I went looking on forums, and it seems results are extremely inconsistent. Some pets use them a lot, some completely ignore them, and sometimes one of them will claim the buttons as territory and fight others who try to use them

Do those pet speech buttons pay for themselves the first time they prevent an unnecessary vet trip, or do they result in more unnecessary vet trips when your pets sit on the "ouch" button by mistake?
