The fact that "home in" and "hone" are starting to collapse into a single meaning is annoying, and the reasonable only solution is for us as a society to start teaching children knife throwing much earlier than we currently are

Trump can sign as many EOs as he wants but trans people are real. They are loved and cherished and valid and nothing he signs will change any of that. They are us and we will not allow them to be erased.

I feel like I can draw a direct line from my past policy of, "Zero minutes notice is a fine amount of notice for an acid trip" to my current policy of chugging any coffee I find left in my thermos, regardless of time of day. Anyway hi from a 7:45pm iced latte and A+ impulse control.

I'm organizing the people in my field to define the terms on which we will and won't use artificial intelligence in our work (and working to remind myself and others that it's possible and ultimately necessary for us to be the ones to set those terms)

@rusty.todayintabs.com We're fighting now, I'm coming to Maine and we're gonna fight.
A text excerpt from the newsletter Today in Tabs purporting to be a quote from Ben McKenzie which reads, "In shock, all I could stammer was, "Mmmm what'd you say?" But Mashinsky wouldn't elaborate further." which is a reference to an OC meme and frankly an s-tier troll.

One of the things I like about having kids is how low your bar for the miraculous becomes. A dinner everyone likes? Miracle! The kids are playing together happily? Miracle? Everyone sleeps past six? Say hallelujah, baby, cause you've got a miracle on your hands.

RM

... you are wanting to use a prototype un-classed technology in a very hostile place. As much as I appreciate entrepreneurship and innovation, you are potentially putting an entire industry at risk.

SR

From: Stockton Rush To: Rob McCallum Sent: March 26, 2018 Subject: RE: Sea Trials

I know that our engineering focused, innovative approach (as opposed to an existing standards compliance focused design process) flies in the face of the submersible orthodoxy, but that is the nature of innovation.

...

I have grown tired of industry players who try to use a safety argument to stop innovation and new entrants from entering their small existing market. Since Guillermo and I started OceanGate we have heard the baseless cries of "you are going to kill someone" way too often. I take this as a serious personal insult.

Actual text messages I just sent at the age of 42. I assume this change will mean I live to at least 100, because everyone knows trail mix and peanut butter pretzels are health food.
Two text messages reading: I don't want to alarm you but I've recently been trying a thing where I snack on stuff like trail mix and peanut butter pretzels instead of oreos or potato chips and it's much more pleasant for my body overall. Is that why you do this.
