Remember that when Elon Musk changed the Twitter algorithm to downgrade any post with a link in it he lied about the reason for doing so, saying that his business needed to encourage people to stay on the site. His real reason was to encourage posters to stop providing links to their claims at all.

Don't worry about the US leaving NATO - it's actually a good thing for time being. This allows everyone else to use the existing NATO infrastructure without having to rebuild anything. If US stays, NATO is defunct under Trump.

Let's think about the scenario that the Europe would need to setup a new defense union. Manpower, will, money are not an issue of any kind. The equipment is. None of the current NATO equipment moves anywhere unless US wants it to move. Rebuilding all this will take a decade.

It seems the EU and the US have decided to go separate ways. The EU steers left in politics, US steers hard right. NATO is more or less done under Trump. This leaves the EU 2-4 years to build an army strong enough to stop Russia before it goes completely insane.
