I said to myself I'd wait for potential re-issues of TTTS and AFFOC for their respective anniversaries next year...well, I didn't.

unpeople - we are unpeople (09/10/26) 7.5/10 Debut album from a band whose name I've seen doing the rounds for a little while now. Very interesting take on the post-hardcore/pop-punk genre, with heavier and more progressive elements. Similar vein as Don Broco, fun sounding with deeper undertones.

Wage War - Landfall (09/10/26) 8.5/10 WW follow up their EP from earlier in the year with a full album, consisting of mostly new songs with only 2 songs transfering over. WW have been back in form this year. The return of brutal heaviness but still with catchy choruses. A come back for the ages.

On this day in 2013, A Day To Remember released their fifth studio album, Common Courtesy. It reached number 5 in the UK album charts and included the singles Right Back at It Again & End of Me, but I loved City of Ocala!

Enter Shikari - Higher Ground (07/10/26 - Single) 7/10 Following the announcement of an upcoming hiatus, ES now release a new single just 6 months after their latest album. A song about taking a wider perspective on matters while trying to be positive. Not as strong as the album but still decent.

Fionn Regan - Hurricane Bruise (05/10/26 - Single) 7.5/10 Fionn Regan returns with the opening track to his upcoming album Berlin, Berlin set for release in January. This is a beautifully simply song, it's honestly amazing what this man can do with just a guitar, his voice and minimal production.

Imminence - Axis Mundi (02/10/26) 7.5/10 This is quite different to their last couple of albums. It's still heavy but not in the same way, and with a more prominent use of electronics. The trademark violin is still there and although some song structures are a bit generic it's still a good album.

Enter Shikari is my favorite band of all time I’ve listened to them since I was 12, seen their highs & lows, seen them live endlessly and their logo was my first tattoo. I get why they’re stepping back, Rou seems exhausted by the world. Even if they never return, they had a really good run.

Feel very sad at the news that Enter Shikari will be taking an indefinite hiatus from 2028. A band I've loved since I was 14 years old, probably the band I've seen the most times live. It'll be bitter sweet seeing them live again in just over a months time. Hopefully this isn't completely the end.

Bullet For My Valentine - Social Apocalypse (24/09/26 - Single) 6.5/10 The band that got me into metalcore return with a new single and album announcement, this being the title track. It's an okay song but honestly, it sounds like it could have been on a recent Architects album. Not bad though.

Paledusk - GOLDEN GOAL (24/09/26 - Single) 7/10 With how experimental Paledusk are you never know what you're going to get from them but that's what makes them great. You know you're going to get pop, electronics, heaviness but in what order...who knows. Toned down a bit but still a decent song.

Like Moths To Flames - Does Heaven Ever Mourn For Me (18/09/26) 8/10 Although I'm not a long time LMTF fan, I really enjoyed their last album and this EP sounds similar. Heavy but interesting guitar work. I'm glad I didn't listen to each song as they came out, as this sounds great as a collective.

Cenobia - Lethal Devotion (18/09/26) 7.5/10 Another masked musician who entered the scene last year. Following a number of singles Cenobia has now released her debut EP which clearly pulls inspiration from Sleep Token through it's lyrical imagery. Heavy, beautiful vocals, overall decent first EP.

Holding Absence - Modern Life Is Lonely (18/09/26) 9/10 This is HA at their most mature and refined. The soft pop/synthwave elements elevate their sound. This, on top of the familiar post-hardcore guitar riffs, trademark emotional lyrics and vocal deliveries from Lucas makes for a fantastic album.

Architects - Machine (16/09/26 - Single) 4/10 Since they're my favourite heavy band I've been an Architects apologist for the last few years with their artistic choices but this song just doesn't vibe with me. Lyrically it sounds like it should be an emotional song but it's just B-Tech Bad Omens.

Saw Spiritbox for the 2nd time again tonight. A very different experience compared to when I saw them the first time in 2023 but they still sounded amazing and deserve the growth they've had in that time! Dying Wish and Jinjer were also great supports, true inspirations for women in metal 🤘

THROATCUT. - NO KINGS. (11/09/26) 7.5/10 Been a while but a new band on my radar. Germany hardcore band with their 2nd EP, similar sound to the likes of Thrown and Alpha Wolf. Pretty aggressive, with an interesting sound of quite clean but tuned down drums and heavily distorted guitars. Decent.

Spiritbox - Mourning (07/09/26 - Single) 7.5/10 18 months on from their 2nd album Tsunami Sea and Spiritbox are back. This song isn't as heavy as what we heard on TS but it's still good. A song about processing grief, likely about their ex-bassist Bill who sadly passed away a couple of years ago.
