Difficult af but hits on presentation, aesthetic, graphics, character designs. It's really cool how it all comes together. It's one of the few N64 games that supports widescreen too.

It is a collection of the two Evolution games originally released on Dreamcast. They are dungeon crawler RPGs with turn based combat yes, with character positioning and grid tactics. Every character with the exception of two use machines called Cyframes that have unique and sometimes funny abilities

The GC version is still good. It's a nice entry point and I actually like the dub (which for me is saying a lot) It's odd how much they cut though, even the dungeons look different. I hate to call it the worse version but it's difficult not to...

Average when compared to the giants, but that's always where I disagree with larger opinions of the game... I would only compare it to mystery dungeon types, as it leans more towards that. It deserves to be praised on its own merits, how it is not afraid to be goofy and silly but still have heart.

Like many jrpgs of that era, what people call grind and tedium is meant to be meditative and zen like. With that in mind, meet Evolution in the middle and it rewards you with some great character moments, impressive cutscenes and a lot of goofy attacks and enemies that always get a laugh out of me.

Copy Kitty rules. Real hidden gem. Went in expecting a MM clone, and ended up getting something rather unique and fantastic. We're also nearing the end of our Boku No Natsuyasumi 2 run, it's been quite a trip. We will have a lot to say about that soon!

it hurts to lose her in a time where we'd all prefer to read a different headline, but she's the textbook example of a life worth celebrating after it's end. if anyone's earned a rest it's her. despair doesn't help, but celebrating her life and her accomplishments proves that things can be better.

BUT... I was getting my hopes up for an update or even a remake in the style of Actraiser Renaissance. The absence of the classic Quintet font does not spark joy. I want more to be there for those of us who already have had access to the original for years.

On the plus side, the efforts of GOG and Clear River to bring back Quintet are monumental. The new art looks phenomenal too. This will also be way more affordable than what the actual copies of the game go for right now.

I am so mixed on this tbh. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, If this brings Terranigma to a new player base, there is a net benefit. BUT... the way they teased it made me think it would be more than just the original with QOL features...

I wish this knee jerk response of bringing up the "backlog" when people talk about games would end. It exposes your relationship to this hobby as a chore. Why not just listen and let people talk to you about cool games, even if you ain't gonna play them? What's wrong with that? Don't kill the vibe.
