That pitch length relegation survival knee march will stick in my head as much as any of the skills (and they were some serious skills) truly top of the line guy! Couldn’t be anything other than happy for him getting his dream move after that.

Must’ve been a flash in the pan for someone? Decent few months here or there, goal of the month on The Football League Highlights possibly? Something about him just sticks.

Here’s hoping, him an Ampadu? Promotion settled (m-maybe).

Ah, one for the pub quiz at best, couldn’t have been that special.

Just kinda dropped off the face of the earth didn’t he? Some lower league somewhere just scraping by no doubt. Was sure he could’ve made it on the big stage too, ah well.

Incredibly kind, as ever! Cheers! Now just to make sure I live up to that kind of endorsement (sure there’s a few that might disagree that I’m a top man, but I’ll take it too).

[Details] Nice to see the world finally noticing what we already knew, eh?

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

It is! It’s only been a year in earnest since I got the fuss I was having with the GP put aside, so whilst there’s too much to catch up with in a matter of just months things are kinda carrying on reasonably speedily, so it’ll be ok! Challenging to draw as much as I’d like, but I love nothing more.

010

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

I’ll be taking personal responsibility for Bluesky breaking btw, the timing was too perfect, too exact. It’d been days and the second I dare to get back into posting more artwork? No image will load. Not a jpg to be seen. Signs rarely get more divine.

010

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

Without the likes of you nobody would ever see it in situ, the frame makes the picture in this case! (I think?). Still in the midst of a health deal which I thought was mostly done until it undid itself, but well enough! Ah, given you’ve ordered before has Santa got the repeat order discount code?

000

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

Ah, that’s far lovelier than a man that takes this long to get back to things at the minute deserves - thank you! Between various tattoos people have gotten and the number of prints hanging around it’s a rare honour, and the best part of the job.

010

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

Despite the fact it took 2 days to reply I’m ok! Well, I mean by my standards, which isn’t great but all the same it’s ok. Hope you’re good! Appreciate it, slowly crawling through things at the minute in order to salvage my back, but botulinum toxin is on the way very soon to speed things back up.

110

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 28/11/2024

(I took so long to reply to this he had the time to have another game to prove this exact statement, as I was able to actually watch this one, and you might’ve even been underselling his current form - my god) ((Also sorry, it’s been a hell of a week))

000

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

(A very belated morning back, sorry about the huge delay - life being life etc. but good to see you on here! Hope you’re well)

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 26/11/2024

That’s incredibly kind Rich! Thank you, hope you’re well! (And enjoying Bluesky too). You’ve made that Bielsa print look so sharp by the way, makes me glad it’s not the version with the (fuck) at the bottom, might’ve dented the uh… ‘tone’ a tad.

Just seen that one of my favourite artists for #LUFC content is here on #Bluesky. If you've not found him yet, give @jlmtregoning.bsky.social a follow & check out his work. Especially if you are in the market for that special Xmas pressie for a #Leeds fan!!

Sorry, been a little busy, so busy in fact I couldn’t even follow the match on Sunday? We’re talking years since that happened. You know the one where Tanaka once again proved he’s him? Apparently anyway, I just have to take your collective word on it.

His signing definitely one of Garry Monk’s finer moments, or… moment? Also I think in a way his finer moments became so routine it was almost standardised? Remember feeling that West Brom game was his, or at least he was the one if anybody, and then he’s just whipping it in the net from kick off.

200

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 21/11/2024

Absolutely. For how good we were under Bielsa it’s amazing to think back to how many moments came down to pure individual brilliance from Pablo, the kind of man to drag you over any line going.

Stade Louis II 🇲🇨 I don't illustrate stadiums often enough, but when I do I like to pick stadiums with interesting features and Monaco's stadium has those gorgeous vertical arches so it was a no brainer. Had a lot of fun with this one, La Bombonera next! #Monaco #Illustration #Smsports

Hah! A legend in a league of one, maybe (possibly just a strong second), but all the same I remember the order well. Well, more importantly remember being very relieved it arrived in time. Royal Mail turned a next day delivery into 6, just for fun I guess. Honoured to see it sitting proudly!

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 19/11/2024

Ah I did have similar typography done up for Farke, not entirely sure why I never posted it? But y’know sometimes things just happen like that, or… don’t.

Weird isn’t it? Minutes between tweets and I follow nearly a thousand people, but when accounts with 80k followers are only getting 800 views on tweets who knows what’s just being algo’d should you not slide Elon a few quid each month.

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

Cheers! I was zoomed in about as far as humanly possible drawing this one, had to go hard if I was to take a crack at the man himself.

I might’ve drawn the original but I can’t imagine ever drawing it on a living lump of shoulder! I’d say it’s their own design now, Jesus. Beautiful work, it’s an honour to be permanently applied anywhere (even if somewhat illicitly). May have to get my own vegas special if I ever find my way there.

A bit more than I ever imagined. Would we weird if we ever sacked the guy that was willing to drop to the Championship despite his reputation, but being thankful is all we can do now.

Occasionally I might be a little overly complimentary to people but never in your case, entirely deserved. Very glad you liked the Carlo! Mostly was a subtle test of the brushes I’d made which could’ve backfired a little (and since forgotten I should do anything with). I’ll get him on the list.

With the kindly intonations of a bashful German baker vaunting his new chocolate creation to the children of Bavaria. As with anything TSB it’s always bang on, but some things are more bang on than others.

Hah always just best to assume I’ve had far too little sleep and taken far too many things designed to stop my neurones from hitting the abort button randomly (but the prescribed dose of course). All good! Even survived an England game with mood intact which is how you know things are indeed good.

As much as it was over far too soon it felt like a decade, that’s how you know it was pure. A true legend of the game. Hah! Not wrong there, terrible memories of Cardiff myself and I didn’t even see a whisker of that match, only when I was older did I get a feel for the dread of playing Cardiff.

John Tregoning | Art @jlmtregoning.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

Cheers Barrie! What Bielsa was doing for Leeds at the time made it a breeze to fly through, would’ve worked on it for months if given half a chance.

I really, really appreciate that, thank you! I hope to get to making more soon, it’s been a thin year despite thinking so many times I could focus on working. And Bielsa was truly my peak, or at least peak in terms of content. Would’ve been nice to have a little more Bielsa before breaking up eh?
