Totally agree. It’s wild how much of what gets labeled as mental illness is actually people having understandable reactions to impossible circumstances. The system turns our suffering into symptoms, and skips the part where we change the world.

And you’re right, if we actually addressed the root causes, social, structural, environmental, the need to throw meds at every struggle might shift
