Shout out to Brazil for reminding the world what you’re supposed to do with political figures who actively attempt to subvert democracy. Notice that part of it is definitely not letting them run for president AGAIN and the other part is sending them to prison for the rest of their miserable life.

Half the condemnations of Kirk’s assassination contain some implication that there are large swaths of the American left who support it, but I have yet to find any actual political figures who have voiced that kind of opinion on it. So who the fuck is this imaginary Democrat they all disagree with?

So glad Elephant Graveyard is getting the recognition he deserves. His video essays are really amazing works of social commentary in the form of comedic poetry.

MAGA, What you feel now listening to Trump call you stupid for believing a “hoax created by the Democrats” knowing he’s lying… That’s how the rest of us having been feeling for the past decade. This is what he does; you’re just catching up now because this latest lie is one you don’t want to hear.

“There is no list” seems likely to be true if you ask me. And my favorite part is that in finally not lying about something, they’re ripping the MAGA base apart.

Let’s not fall into the conspiracy trap here, folks. This article is referring to the BLS report which accounts for all-sector employment. The ADP report, which showed a loss of 33,000 jobs, is for private-sector employment only.

The Democratic establishment’s resistance to Mamdani is entirely a product of our campaign financing system. Their donors have made their allergy to common sense social services funded by common sense taxation perfectly clear. It’s also one of the few “both sides” issues we have left.

A comic-style meme shows a stick figure with an American flag shouting "Globalism is over!" at a group of four other stick figures representing China, Canada, Mexico, and the EU, each wearing their respective flags. In the second panel, the group stands together, one gives a thumbs up. By the third panel, they are united and smiling, while the American figure remains quiet. This meme illustrates the theme of an "Isolated America" in contrast to international unity.

And China is laughing all the way to the bank as they watch the US skull-fuck its renewables industry with this Big Bullshit Bill because some fossil fuel execs gave Trump’s PAC a billion dollars in exchange for… *checks notes* Ah, yes. Whatever the fuck they want.

Gotta hand it to MAGA for finding a way to pass a budget bill that maybe like three dozen people in the entire country actually wanted. Kudos I guess.

“Diversity of thought” is a nice way of describing incoherent and dissonant sets of ideas, most of which are based just on vibes. Which is what allows for such diversity. When truth doesn’t matter, we have no basis to form our views on and don’t need to adapt when our ideas are mutually exclusive.

Just to recap the past couple weeks, our current president has, to name a couple: - announced in-person dinners for the largest purchasers of his $TRUMP coin (AKA openly accepting bribes for meetings with the president) - and accepted a $400 million gift private jet from the Qatari government.

Just finished a rewatch of the Star Wars prequels and I just couldn’t help but notice many parallels to real life that now seem like Lucas’ premonitions. Anakin = Donald Trump before he entered politics. Lucky, naive, horny, and absolutely obsessed with his own destiny and sense of victimhood.

This is idiotic and fails to address the issue entirely. Housing affordability is primarily an issue of supply failing to keep pace with demand. The cause of this is not a lack of land on which to build housing; it’s arbitrarily restrictive zoning laws in the places where new units are needed most.

Trump Administration to Use Federal Lands for Affordable Housing

It feels so quaint to look back on a year ago when I worried the worst-case-scenario for Trump’s mass deportation logistics was they might build quasi-concentration camps in the SW for people awaiting deportation proceedings. What’s now happening is far worse and somehow I didn’t see it coming.

Are we really being forced to live in a world where getting “border security” can only mean throwing away all our other values in its pursuit? MAGA has yet another opportunity to beat the cult allegations by just stating the obvious in opposition to a single decision by this admin, but they refuse.

The question polled here could be rephrased, “Does the constitution still matter even when you don’t get your way?” The majority of Americans would fail a middle school civics exam and a significant number of people simply do not care to understand the implications of a president ignoring courts.

It’s fucking depressing to consider how little this matters to their fanboys. They will never actually see or care that Zelenskyy did, in fact, say thank you (he didn’t need to, to be clear). They’ll only see the part where their “good and strong” daddies berated a disrespectful beggar.
