man it’s really wild you can spend a year in open war with the Nazis but you dare make one criticism of the left and they’ll dig up some tweet, clip it completely out of context, and then a bunch of them will call for you to suffer and die

At its core the Internet left wants to be beating on liberals not conservatives. It can contort itself to the latter from time to time but the former is the comfortable reflexive position. You have seen no campus protests in response to the President declaring that he wants to ethnically cleanse Gaza.

A problem I’m seeing with a lot of leftists right now is that they seem to want to use this democratic breakdown as an opportunity to win an argument with libs by showing that constitutionalism is a big fraud, when in reality we desperately need to be protecting and reasserting constitutionalism

A particularly nasty tactic from Twitter’s worst Nazi is to post screenshots and imply I am “scrubbing tweets” - I haven’t deleted a tweet in days, and it certainly wasn’t anything threatening. Now I’m getting very specific death threats from Nazis who are sure there’s something horrible I’m hiding.

Here is what Democrats can do: -we live in a crisis-driven media ecosystem -a sense of crisis results in diffuse public attention - normally spread across many communication channels - focusing on a single problem, bringing massive pressure to bear -Dems can help create a sense of crisis

We need to shift our messaging from "Democrats SHOULD talk about..." to just SAYING IT ourselves (I'm guilty too). Don't lament the asymmetry in the media; we already know the media would destroy Biden if he blamed a plane crash on some amorphous framework like DEI. Instead, start making the case:

To review, the FAA administrator was forced out because of a business vendetta of Elon Musk’s, Trump froze the hiring of new ATCs despite staff shortages, Musk launched an underhanded attempt to hollow out the whole federal workforce, and then the first US airliner crashed in 16 years.

One of the things Trump's supporters would do when you said he was going to build concentration camps was say "Well, they're not real concentration camps, because we're just sending them home." But we're nine days in and he's already ordered a massive concentration camp to permanently detain people

It’s important to know that a lot of productive activity is happening in person and offline, too. Not all of it can be broadcast online, but we’ve had hundreds of people showing up to our trainings, mobilizations, and more. Keep going. Tyranny is eroded by a sea of small acts. Everything matters.

CORRECT. It's a crisis. Also, Democrats: Chaos and conflict BENEFIT you now. You're the out-party. Trump trying to pull apart the federal government, shred the Constitution, and seed chaos into the nation. All of this is immensely unpopular. A standoff that highlights what he's doing HELPS you.

I am firmly convinced that one part of this is that a lot of Dems collectively have that special narcissism you sometimes see in people who are a little too smart for their own good, who are convinced everyone is always watching them and very carefully tailoring their behavior accordingly

This is true and it’s worth realizing the reason it is true is that if Democrats dare take credit for a world-historic economic run they’ll be berated by people ON THEIR OWN SIDE, which validates the attack in the eyes of media.

Donald Trump on Friday became the first U.S. president to be criminally sentenced. The judge in the hush-money case imposed an "unconditional discharge" of Trump's sentence, acknowledging the president-elect's inauguration in 10 days. nyti.ms/4ajRyo3
Text reads: “Trump Is First President
To Be Sentenced as a Felon. Donald Trump will avoid jail or any other substantive punishment in the hush-money case, in which he was convicted of 34 felonies, but the sentence cements the president-elect's status as a felon before his inauguration. Jan. 10, 2025.”

Democrats should be thinking not about 2024 but the last time they ran against an over-emboldened lame duck president, George W. Bush. Bush won a more convincing victory than Trump, was more popular than Trump, and overreached dramatically less than Trump surely will.

Absolutely. “Voters don’t care about policy” means “voters don’t care about policy,” not “voters want moderate policy.” It seems like you can kind of have whatever policy agenda you want and if voters like you and your party, they’ll perceive it as being reasonable and roughly aligning with them.
