I've read romance novels. Mainly romantasy, because I can jump on a bandwagon as well as anyone. Romance novels are novels. They're writing. I'd argue that they require far more genuine humanity to work well than most "literature."

This is exactly the eye of the needle. The ultimate goal is to restore the rule of law. The current SCOTUS is actively undermining it and must be reformed with extreme urgency and prejudice. But nonetheless some obedience to its rulings is required to maintain the rule of law.

Today, in a professional context, I (briefly) talked about my childhood love of She-Ra and The Secret of the Sword. Felt only mildly silly. Compare to me at 25, pretending to care about football, repeating things I had heard my wife say. Point is, being in your 40s isn't all bad.

Lots of male names became neutral, presumably b/c parents of girls will give them masculine names (or women will take them as nicknames), but the reverse is not true. Boy-parents, time to start naming your sons Rose and Jane and Chastity. If we try hard enough, all names can be gender neutral.
