Bought new markers on a whim & been drawing again for the first time in bloody aaaaages. Perhaps a decade or so since I really drew last time. Ain’t nothin’ fancy but it’s soooo nice to be drawing again. And a good marker just hits different.

Ended up trying Forest Shuffle at a local Con (shoutout to #ropecon) & what a delightful game it is! You get to create a forest! With animals! And plants & berries & moss, etc! Such a feel good game. Engine-building like Wingspan but a bit simpler & more animals. And trees! Can’t forget the trees.

I saw this & I made one of my quickest & strongest double take in a while. “Friendfarming”? “Friendslop”? Sir, we’ve reached levels of terminally online previously thought to be only theoretically possible. I’m afraid to push further because anything beyond this has never felt the touch of grass.

Midsummer came & went, as it does every year. I hope y’all had a wonderful nightless night, wherever you found yourself. 🙏 On these shores midsummer magic was stamped out a long time ago but on eves like these, it’s easy to see why they came to be. The nightless night is full of whimsy & mystique.

This might be a daft question, but what genre is Clair Obscur: Expedition 33? I don’t think “turn-based RPG” is really a genre, even if that’s what Wikipedia is calling it with a straight face. Don’t wanna flex but I met this dapper lil’ gent today. Eino is his name & today is his 9th birthday! Look at his lil’ booties! He has them bc his paws are a bit sensitive. 🥹 He was so hyper it was real hard to get a good shot but I think it only adds to the pic, showing the true nature of Eino.

I’m watching Breaking Bad for the first time (yea yea yea) & I gotta say, great storytelling, compelling characters & delightful cinematography. Enjoying season 3. BUT! I always thought people exaggerated the Mexico-filter but goddamn..! Someone turned the colour correction to straight up lemon. 🍋

White strawberries? Has science gone too far? 🤔 That look like -they’ve had all the juice sucked out of them? -someone thought “you know what, strawberries _are_ too spicy” & then made an affront to nature. Made me question this whole “let’s form a civilisation, what’s the worst that can happen?”

Following @pantmonger.bsky.social & @cerberusxt.bsky.social got me into figure painting again. Been 20+ years since I’ve painted but it was so fun! Need better glasses tho. :D Tried painting highlights from a light source for the first time & while it isn’t great (but decent-ish!) I learned heaps.

Yo, why did nobody tell me that #DragonAge dwarves have face tattoos that are essentially just aggressive contouring? Thanks to this, I accidentally created a dwarven gigachad. Wife adores the Dragon Age games so I promised her to play them all & Chaddius here is my guide through Origins.

As someone who has dealt a fair amount of snow & ice, I appreciate when games do them well & #indianajones did this rather nicely. Not perfect but a LOT better than many games. Especially the ice was nice, full of small details that show the devs having dealt with ice in their life.

Joining my pipe people! Pipe time is a good time, I say (literally never said that before now, but hey, who's counting). The ritual of loading the pipe, slowly smoking it, letting it warm your hand & then cleaning it takes roughly 30-45 min but that's all part of the charm. Pipe it up, folks!
