I have a long standing answer to this... New York in 1977: you could see television and talking heads at CBGBs, DJ Kool Herc etc + the birth of hip hop in the Bronx, go to the opening of studio 54 and see the height of disco in clubs, + Steve Reich + Phillip Glass' early minimalist concerts

Gradual exposure to food allergens as a treatment can do amazing things. Two years ago our daughter went to hospital in anaphylaxis having milk in cooked food at nursery, a year of the ‘milk ladder’ at home via KCLH and she now is dairy allergy free www.bbc.com/news/article...

'My peanut allergy nearly killed me - now I eat them every day'
Just a few years ago, Chris Brookes-Smith could have died from eating peanuts - but taking part in a clinical trial has changed his life.

Tim. Can I just say that imho the ECtHR/Council of Meh/HUDOC YOUDOC has been lightyears ahead of the English and Welsh court system in terms of making its law available to the public for a long while. As ever, I have nothing to say on the substance

Thanks Stefan! I did say doctrinally significant ‘or’ socially significant, I was trying to be born. I do think there are cases that are both but agree they are rare. I don’t agree (if that’s the point being made) that you need empirical research to determine if a case is socially significant

Need a new project now my PhD is done. Can I ask, law hive mind, people to reply to this with English legal cases the think are most significant, any court, any area, whether cos they developed a particular legal area, or they were socially signif like say Ruth Ellis. All eras. Want a list

Oh I forgot about Brian Wilson yeah. Probably nips McCartney for me. Agree with all the others tho always think of Lennon as more about the chords than the melodies, tho there some incredible subtle changes he does around those

Who are the greatest melodists in popular music. For me Jeff Mangum Bob Marley Paul McCartney Though I accept I’ve just done this off the top of my head

I submit that rather than having to write opinions about prisoners trapped in hot showers as a punishment, we stop treating people like this. www.ca5.uscourts.gov/opinions/unp...
Defendants contend that Burkle could have used the shower water to clean the feces and vomit from the cell floor. Further, Defendants argue that Burkle's defecation and vomiting was less severe than that previously held to violate the Eighth Amendment in Taylor v. Riojas, 592 U.S. 7 (2020), because Burkle had not shown a clogged drain.
It is well-established that filthy and unsanitary cell conditions may violate a prisoner's Eighth Amendment rights. See, e.g., id. at 9 n.2 (holding that "massive amounts" of feces in plaintiff's seclusion cell, his being deprived restroom facilities, forced to relieve himself in his cell, and forced to sleep on the cell floor violated the Eighth Amendment); Palmer, 193 F.3d at 352-53 (determining that plaintiff's confinement to a small area without restroom facilities and in unsanitary conditions for seventeen hours deprived him of the basic elements of hygiene); Gates, 376 F.3d at 338-40 (holding that plaintiff's confinement to unsanitary cell conditions implicated the Eighth Amendment's protections); see also Hope v. Harris, 861 F. App'x 571, 584 (5th Cir. 2021) (vacating district court's dismissal of plaintiff's claim against one defendant after finding that mold. urine and feces covering cell had
