True Habs fans know not to get their hopes up!

That’s a great example of what offside review was not supposed to solve. Bolduc was never part of the play.

What a horrible play by Matheson. Didn’t even look before trying to go point to point

It’s always parade or panic with Kelly. Nothing nuanced or carefully considered middle ground.

They look good when they’re not playing the defending champs.

Broken foot? I heard that he took a hard shot in the Pittsburgh game, but didn't see it.

Caufield’s first goal, Kreider was completely screening the goalie.

Two layers of socks is excellent for backpacking (reduces blisters by allowing the socks to slide against one another, rather than against your skin). But for everyday use? 🤷‍♂️

So far would say it would have been better to have him on the first line instead of Kreider. It's only game one, but....

That and it seems like lousy contract management as well. Oh well, let the Leafs Leaf

Digital Equipment Corp Rainbow 100. No games. Only Lotus 1-2-3 and some word processor I can't remember.

I enjoy Lori's articles as well. I opened it initially in a browser without an ad blocker and it was impossible to read. Then I moved it over to Safari with AdBlock extension and it was much better. I know sites need ads to make money, but at some point the article needs to be readable.

Same as when we signed Corey Perry.

We went there several years ago with our Lego obsessed kid, also on vacation. They were so helpful. They ordered several replacement parts for a Lego robotic set (Boost) and sent them to our home free of charge. Great store.

Wile E. Coyote, despaired, takes a bucket of paint and a brush and paints a beautiful two-bedroom house on a mountainside. He paints a beautiful coyote wife in the window, and two adorable coyote kids running around in the yard. He tries to enter this new coyote life, but it is inaccessible to him

That's what happens when you expand from 32 to 48 teams.

Also not certain Andy is gone after next year. He showed he can adapt to new roles (he was good at penalty killing earlier in the year before they brought in Danault for extra help) and he was great in the first round or two before he trailed off.

route or would simply ask for a trade or leave via RFA to go somewhere where he could be a punishing D.

I worry that Arber doesn't have the foot-speed and general knack to play forward. The one or two games he filled in he kind of cruised around. He did lay on a good forecheck once he got there. He IS dedicated enough that he could probably learn it. Question is whether he would want to go that

Jim Gleason @jimgleason.bsky.social · 30/05/2026

This right here. I would love the Habs to keep him, continue to work on his game and keep the edge that he brings. But if the team isn’t going to trust him enough to use him in big games, then trade him while he still has a lot of value to fill the other holes.

Jim Gleason @jimgleason.bsky.social · 30/05/2026

Give it to Hutson. Let him crazy-legs it in. Have others going in at same time for someone to pass to. It’s too static at the line.

Great column. I was at the Hartford game. Still remember the roof coming off when he scored.

I saw that first goal (against Hartford - 2nd round game 7 in 86) live. What a moment.

Except at some point, the refs will stop calling it. It’s part of the game management. They will always call the high stick to the face but there is only so much of the other stuff they’re willing to call. And then the dirty stuff becomes effective.

110 1

Jim Gleason @jimgleason.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

I agree, at this point. Xhekaj was playing well (better that Struble), though the refs were giving him penalties that they wouldn’t assess to anyone else.

Hopefully the D changes next year with Reinbacher finally cracking the lineup and giving them a third RHD.

Jim Gleason @jimgleason.bsky.social · 28/05/2026

Standard 2 on 1 defence. Cut off the pass let the goalie take the shooter. Struble 🙄

Sucks that they score on such a weak penalty call.

Suzuki needs to spend the off-season learning to shoot again. Two years ago, he was money. Now?

000 0

Jim Gleason @jimgleason.bsky.social · 26/05/2026

Finally the Habs gave up the slingshot and immediately gain entry and score. Great moves from Caufield and Hutson

The lack of a solid second line centre means we have no fourth line centre.

I have been yelling at the TV to let Hutson bring it in. He has the best hands and feet on the team.

Xhekaj, having played less than 2 minutes, is one of the first one over the boards to celebrate. Great attitude in that kid.
