In the UK, you can get a 100% mortgage, but not a 100-year mortgage. The max is 40 years. We do have 100-year leaseholds, but that's not linked to a mortgage.

I don't think that palliative care is anywhere near what it should be in the UK, but I don't hear people saying that is the reason they want the right to die with dignity. If someone chooses to go down the palliative care route, that should be the best care the NHS can offer.

I honestly don't think this is about people being forced down the assisted dying route. It's about people being allowed to choose their end of life. I haven't seen any of the campaigners saying they are not getting the care they need. They just want to choose how it all ends.
