Bluesky fail for me: because it’s so easy to follow tons of people and because there is no algorithm for making content reappear, any post gets buried within 30 seconds, never to be seen again, unless it’s a popular post that gets reposted. Ironically, #Bluesky rewards the major creators after all.

Is it only in Ohio that, when I apologize, people respond by commenting on my well-being? Also, how can they state with such confidence that I am, in fact, fine? #You’reFine #Satire #PretendingNotToGetIt

I want to scroll down to see the origin of R2D2’s beeps and boops; maybe there some ancestry as a dial-up modem connection.

Maybe I’ve been seeing too many political posts, but I first interpreted “we are selling out” as an admission of being co-opted, an announcement of becoming a corporate shill or something.

Along with the injustice and danger of this particular arrest of a journalist, I was sad to read here that the expansion of ICE activity began under Obama. I definitely don’t remember reading about that at the time.

I liked the curves of this leaf with two beetles on it, and turned the whole thing into a kind of pinwheel shamrock.

Post-storm sunset experienced by a dog and their human. [I was lucky to capture this moment as they were on a hilltop and I ran back and found a location way behind the hill, far enough way to get both of them in focus along with the clouds despite the low light].
A dog and its human watching the sunset after a storm.

Dancing is important! As people resonate online together in virtual space [nestled in the security of knowing how information is managed], it is delightful to sometimes move to a beat in the dance floor space, exploring a nonverbal openness [in the security of shared understanding of consent].

Someone challenged me to make some digital art out of the first photo, even though it didn’t have any big shapes and a lot of the photo was blurry. Here’s a sample of how I responded; a few more images in a comment.
Unknown type of flowers sent by a friend for me to play around with digitally, it is a red flower whose petals are not yet opened, with a stone and some mulch and some other plants in the background out of focusA pin meal pattern I made from a picture of an unopened flowerA square pattern made of multiple copies of a picture of a flower with a stone in the background

Yep! This is the dawn of a new era for the Catholic Church, not with simple stuff like accepting that trans people exist, but with something that really brings Chicago into The Church such as declaring at communion that the body and blood of Christ is best represented by deep dish pizza.

Thanks for linking me to all of the information and response to my question. Now this innate violence by our relative calls our human nature back in the question; but maybe we have bonobos in our nature, and of course we continue to evolve genetically and socially.

I wonder if this “bad apples” analysis also applies to studies of chimpanzees; the book “demonic males” makes the case for inherent violence based on that lineage, conveniently ignoring bonobos I guess, but maybe even chimp violence is a few individuals or under land-defending circumstances.

I would cry contradiction if these were simply reporting the inflation rate itself, but in both cases the reporting is about projections of public reactions, which are indeed different as described; my main complaint is with the word “hot” which is both negatively biased and too ambiguous.

This article captures my frustration with “node”-style network thinking; patterns of interaction happen at multiple scales, not just in the individual or the whole. Indeed, “Mechanism” might appear to be the territory, but it’s the map; Behavior, from neurons to clumps of birds, is the territory.
