Yup. It may be shocking, but not everything about life is about the dollars. Missing on Buium/Helenius/MBN for the chance of getting smoked by NYR in 2024 was a bit of a disaster in hindsight. Unless one believes that the Caps would’ve passed on the chance to acquire LT, PLD, Chychy and focused on a rebuild.

The recent winning has come on the back of Lapierre and Beauvillier starting to score for some reason, Thompson playing all of the games and standing on his head, Cole turning the PP around on his own. The randomness of the first part is excruciating.

Hendrix Lapierre just hates the Washington Capitals. While they needed a 3C or 4C in the past two seasons he's been the worst skater in the NHL. When they could use a good draft pick like in 2024 or this season, he goes bonkers.

They just pulled a “Last Dance”. Backstrom asked for a trade that offseason and got convinced by Ted to stay. There were reports that him and Ovi weren’t loving each other that much to begin the 2017-18 season. Trotz also burned all of his goodwill at the end of the season MFing them hard.

Can’t wait to watch the game after work. Glancing at the standings I’d say we’re locked into the 13OA pick with a chance of falling to 14. A bit of a worst case scenario give the team’s long term needs. At least we recouped some assets and the draft really goes all over the place after the top 2.
