First week at the new job has ended. Now time for vidya gaems.

They’re both good reads. And the Cemetery Boys audiobook is narrated by Avi Roque. I almost forgot, but Ciaran Strange has a book out as well.

Yeah. Still not as bad as him covering for a predator, but another reason he's not worth anyone's time or attention.

Weirdly, he actually wrote some decent stories for the Batman/Superman animated tie in comics. He didn’t need to be an edgelord; he has genuine talent

Interesting. I'll put it on my radar. This is what I'm currently reading. Only a few chapters in, but it's going for the "building your party in an RPG" vibe, and all the characters introduced are compelling in their own ways.

TIL that the guy who wrote Cerebus included his own character that was a riff on Kenny Delmar’s Senator Claghorn, but it’s easy to see why he never became as popular as a certain bombastic rooster

So those are the two basic foundations, which may be altered as time progresses. For now, the question is trying to see how many different series can be connected using them as the framework. Thankfully there are a few instances where the work has already been done for me.

The varying intensity of these supernatural phenomena have resulted in a myriad of strange occurrences, including the existence of mythical creatures into the modern era, time travel, bringing entities from other planets/dimensions into ours, and bestowing some individuals with superhuman powers.

Second rule - magic is real. Paranormal events are a regular occurrence of life in this world, with their severity varying depending on where you live and whatever may have happened in the past to make the region more sensitive to magic (a coven of witches, a downed UFO, gateway to hell, etc)

and could incorporate series where these interactions are already established without explanation, such as Duckman and Bojack Horseman. However, some animals evolved in a way that didn't make them humanoid but still capable of higher brain functions - Scooby Doo would be a prime example.

First, this world would have to be one where the evolution of cognitive thought and speech wasn't just restricted to primates, but other animals as well. It would justify the Looney Tunes, Disney stars, Hanna-Barbera regulars, and other anthropomorphic animals being able to live alongside humans...

Jim Bevan @jimbevan85.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Yesterday I started thinking about how one could hypothetically envision a continuity where many disparate animated series could be said to occur in the same world, in the vein of Wold Newton universe. This still needs a lot of thought, but I laid out a few ground rules to make it coherent.
