These little beauties appear in our raised beds in Kentucky every so often around May. (Metal screw added for size perspective.) They look like tiny jellyfish or lacy umbrellas. So fragile and delicate. Beautiful!

Tiny white fungi that resemble translucent umbrellas in the dirt. A sheet metal screw is added for size comparison. It is about ten times larger than the fungi.

We’re a Waldorf school family so I’m familiar. But I love the analogy of Winnie the Pooh, Rabbit, Eeyore and Tigger. Ofc once you’re a mom you kinda have to be Rabbit. Too many things to keep track of!

The smoke is shocking. And if you’re from Louisville you definitely know someone who works at UPS. It’s a tragedy. But we’re all thankful it didn’t happen one minute later when they would have been over a residential neighborhood. Still, it’s a terrible day in the Ville.

We’ve been a little overwhelmed of late with a foster dog. A neighbor found a Doberman? pup in the street and we’ve been caring for him while we try and get him home. It’s like having a tornado in our house! He’s very, umm, enthusiastic. I’m a Shiba person so any advice on big breed pups is welcome!

I had little experience with the trans community until a good friend found her 4-year-old son with a pair of kitchen shears ready to remove the thing that stopped him from being the girl they knew they were. This beautiful young child wasn’t indoctrinated by drag queen story hour or anything else.

Looks like “Mount Zion” is name adopted by many African-American churches and has nothing to do with what is considered “Zionism.” I’m not a religious person, but James Talarico is worth following. He’s good people.

Biblical Zion as a symbol of liberation

In the Bible, Zion (originally a hill in Jerusalem) came to mean the place where God dwells and where the oppressed are restored.
• Psalm 137 — “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, when we remembered Zion…” — spoke powerfully to enslaved people, who identified with the Israelites in exile.
• Zion represented the Promised Land — freedom from bondage and a home with dignity.

For African Americans under slavery and later under Jim Crow, Zion became shorthand for the hope of deliverance: from physical slavery, from sin, and from injustice.

While I am loathe to support LE nonsense, there is a symbol I’ve seen at plenty of Pride events that include a trio of arrows once used to represent anti-fascism and now incorporated into trans symbology. That being said, that doesn’t mean they didn’t see ➡️➡️⬆️⬆️⬇️↘️ and made a huge leap from there.

My ten year old dog was diagnosed with renal failure in May. We thought we had a few days at best. But we’ve been giving him daily subcutaneous fluids and he’s running around like a puppy! It’s not easy, but every time he picks up a toy or chases out other puppy my heart sings!

Any feelings about Kentucky governor Beshear? He won twice in a red state and has spent both terms creating jobs and bringing industry to red counties all over the state. And he’s also a very smart and very sincere Southerner. We’re pretty proud of him down here. 💙

When my son was a kid he refused to eat tomatoes. Then we planted a garden and grew some from starts we got from our local Amish folks. I picked one warm from the sun and coerced him into taking a bite. “Oh. Is that what they’re supposed to taste like? Wow.” Now he eats them like apples.❤️🍅
