ohh my poor neglected playdate... i got an email like "hey our records show yours is on an old version that's about to run into certificate expiration issues that make it more annoying to update, so if you want to update it now it'll be easier" so i picked it up and was like "i forgot you ruled"

i turned it off a few times but each time i was like "well, maybe i'll give it a bit more of a chance instead of immediately returning to old muscle memory" and i think i managed to find a setup that i could stick with. it's very weird to adjust to after so much time with normal tabs though

Jill @ PETAL CRASH 2 OUT NOW! @jillkatze.lastwing.net · 05/10/2026

that being said: i would love it if the auto-hide could be set to even more aggressive and entirely or almost-entirely hide the bar, while using a number badge on top of the "Collapse Sidebar" button (which i moved to be all the way on the left above my tab sidebar)

i was so enamored with having called this a quote for a roxas forum siggy that i had to make it. imaginary lore: roxasgrrl89 wanted her name to be read like "Roxas's Girl" but couldn't write roxassgrrl because it had "ass" in it which wasn't allowed

i just now made the connection between "Bad Apple" from song and "bad apple" from bunchspoiling. it wasn't just arbitrarily mashing together words, which is how i'd parsed it for however many years it's been. help

an awesome thing about Petal Crash 2 being in early access now is that i can just post about when i add stuff to it. i'm so hype for when Skycolourgirl finally drop the full ambulocetus song. surely in the next episode of 3D Mainichi Modern, right? right?

just realized you could potentially read this as positioning Lilibri as a funny grandma. i don't think she's that old. Rosalia is but i think if you called her a grandma you would regret it

sometimes my brain will just randomly connect dots like “hey is ‘wafer’ related to the french ‘gauffre’ (waffle) through the same circumstances that turned an old form of ‘guerre’ into ‘war’” and i look it up and it is. so i guess thanks for the trivia, human pattern recognition engine

i feel like this is as basic bitch as possible but i was trying to be honest instead of making myself seem cooler than i was as a kid (i was not a cool kid). it's not that i didn't play awesome shit like Mischief Makers but i wasn't spending 999 hours trying to find Luigi in it

Jill @ PETAL CRASH 2 OUT NOW! @jillkatze.lastwing.net · 28/09/2026

the theme i tried to go for here was "games that got me obsessed with something new as a kid" and it's endlessly funny to me that my fighting games origin story isn't Street Fighter 2 (though i did play it) but Mortal Kombat 2 due to the old classic "older cousin's influence"

Mario 3 / Tetris (Game Boy) / Sonic 2 / Mortal Kombat 2 / Mario 64 / Goldeneye / Pokemon Blue / Ocarina / DDR 2nd Mix

aside from the people who can't read being like "um actually it IS based on journey to the west" i love all the people being like "umm actually sun wukong also went on a bunch of extra powercreep adventures" as if dragon ball is supposed to be a faithful adaptation and they got your ass

man. our group choosing to stop playing fortnite late last year was still the right call like, Ethics-wise, but it's really hitting me now how much of a gap it left in our gaming habits that we've never recovered from so we just hang out less and that sucks. i wish other video games were real

Petal Crash 2 magazine ad humor

Strelitz from Petal Crash looking slightly off and sliding diagonally on a block, to everyone's shock. Fake magazine cutout text says "Don't play by their rules...", and is continued at the bottom with "Make your own. Petal is back with radical new moves and modes that will shock even the most seasoned gardeners. With battles this frantic, you'll have to adapt- or else you might find yourself pushing up daisies."
