there is no such thing as "age verification." All "age verification" is actually "identity verification." You can coat it in glitter and "privacy-preserving" wrapping paper. But in the end, mandating age verification means mandating surveillance be built into software and hardware. Period.

Work laptop runs windows 11, Minimal applications installed since we work on Linux machines. Yet somehow, of the 256GB the laptop came with, I have 70GB left… In contrast, my personal laptop has fedora installed. Started with 512gb and I have all the stuff installed on it. >450GB left. #linux

Bought a Surface Book in 2016, leaving Apple. Huge mistake, overheating, awful battery, never slept properly. Moved to an M2 Air, spectacular. Still use it. Should have just gone ThinkPad with Linux from the start though, running an X1 Carbon with Fedora now and it’s a dream.

During my fluid dynamics research, I got pushed into MS Word despite LaTeX being better for academic publishing. Did my bachelor’s thesis in LaTeX, but my masters department forced Word. If only I’d known about Pandoc. Industry, and institutions take away your freedom. #LaTeX #opensource #freedom
