Overall I gave this movie a B+/A-. There were a few things I found problematic like “Daddy’s” sexual interest in the little girl and the fact they make you hate the dog so much you want it to die. The very blatant social commentary was amazing though Grade: B+/A-

Lastly the whole Mommy and Daddy thing still catches me off guard lmao They’re siblings playing house, kidnapping kids and running around in gimp suits 😂

The movie also has heavy societal commentary about class, racism and what happens when yt people are allowed to exploit poor (mostly Black) communities

I think what makes this such a good piece of Black horror is that Fool gets to be a KID while also being the smartest person in this entire movie lol Plus watching a little Black boy outsmart these evil ass yt people over and over again is extremely satisfying

Unfortunately for Fool, these people are kidnapping kids and pretending to be their parents. Now he gotta figure out how to escape and save the kids

The movie follows Fool, a 13-year-old Black kid who breaks into his landlords’ house with two adults hoping to steal enough money to keep his family from being evicted and to help his mom

Review time! So I watched this last night and literally forgot how much fun this movie was. Like Wes Craven did his big one with this!

I’m sorry this is now a Colony fan account. I’m really torn on if this is my number one or not 🙃 so I guess it’s time to rewatch some movies from this year

Colony does what Resident Evil thought it was doing.

As I keep watching this could be my number 2

Is Colony the best zombie movie to come out this year? I’m 25 minutes in and the answer is yes

I say this as I’m watching Ice Cream man. Like it’s not bad but it’s just Cooties with more gore.

Now where they’re going with Satan or why Art I can’t remember but this was introduced in the short films. I do understand the criticism if you haven’t watched everything though to understand the lore cause the killings are wild lmao

Ice cream man is what people say the Terrifier is…plotless. Because the story is literally ice cream makes kids evil. At least with the Terrifier we know that Art is a demon collecting souls for Satan and Sienna is the only one that can stop him.

I love that I wake up with such joy and good energy in my heart. I can’t imagine waking up and the first thing I do is find a reason to hate the day before it’s even started

Overall this movie is like a perfect A. Not an A+ cause I hate how slow the zombies are. Slow zombies just don’t give me fear because I just feel like I could outrun them lmao Grade: A #HorrorSky

And then there’s the crazy ass man hiding in the basement with his family lmao. He argues with Ben about EVERYTHING because he’s convinced he knows better. Meanwhile his daughter is downstairs sick from being bitten. Which is like the perfect amount of karma

Duane Jones is SO good as Ben. He feels like an actual person trying to keep his shit together while everyone around him is panicking, arguing or making the situation worse. Like I could not have remained level headed if I was him 😂

Ok so why do I love this movie? Well a couple of reasons. First the makeup. It’s so simple compared to what we see in zombie movies now, but that honestly makes it creepier to me. Everybody looks just human enough that seeing them walking around eating people gives me shivers

100

“Your favorite Libra” Ashley. @jigglyashpuff.blacksky.app · 03/10/2026

What makes this such an important piece of Black horror history is Ben played by Duane Jones was not only a Black man leading a horror movie in 1968 but he lived!!

The sister escapes and ends up hiding in a farmhouse with Ben and a few other survivors while more of the dead start surrounding the house.

So let’s get into my first review! Night of the Living Dead starts with a brother and sister visiting their father’s grave when they’re suddenly attacked by what we now know as zombies.

Ok review time since I didn’t yesterday. I’ll be rating the movies on a scale of A-F with a mini review for those who haven’t seen the movies I’m watching. Some of them I watch a lot and others I’ve never seen or haven’t seen in awhile. #HorrorSky #BlerdSky
