Quite quiet/boring, but I like football (LFC supporter), music, games, cooking, and reading.

Still have my Road Rash Megadrive cartridge somewhere, complete with fancy EA yellow tab on the side. Feeling the urge to dig it out to take a look

That took a second to process - the windows being so high made you (both) look toddler-height

Same really, pootling along! If Ben's being sulky, remind him that winning means nothing without losing as it's sport. I bet it won't help though!

I don't know if you still use this here place, but the newish book Solace House by the same fellow is excellent. Hello if you do!

I think over the years Alan Partridge has provided me the most entertainment and laughs from any similar show/character. He's such a nuanced person there's always something to be discovered and laughed at - hard - on re-watching a good few times.

Small town life is underappreciated. Wasn't a fan when I was younger, but say, walking the dog at night here is just great
Sunset over a small town, mostly silhouetted with a pale yellow fading to blue sky.

In that spirit, just finished Solace House, and loved it as much if not more than The Apparition Phase. Still a bit puzzled (in the best, interest-piqued way) at some things as with Mr. Salt and his true nature, but am sure I'll refine my own preferred take over the next few days. Cracking book!

I need to send this to my brother; a 12:30pm kickoff can seriously ruin his weekend if the results don't go his way! It's the nature of the beast, sport, everyone will want something different and it can't all be one way. For the record, gonna look more into what you've mentioned here!

Been told my reaction to footy results are "zen" in the past - and I know that's comically trivial compared to this, but it's what I appreciate in your LFC posts: you admit things are bad, but never let it get you down, nor whings. If we won all the time that's not sport anyhow. No fun in that!

It really is, I love the whole city. We were showing a visiting American friend around and did the castle tour - on leaving and seeing that view more or less everybody there stopped to take the same photo. Helps that it was a sunny day in Lancaster too!

I know the place well, lived there for a handful of years!
Photo from Lancaster Castle, showing the town hall and cathedral and in the distance the Ashton Memorial. A very sunny day, showing lots of trees and greenery.

My mum was originally complaining about Impossible not being on BBC2 in the afternoons and now she just messages me "The kid won!" - only sport I've seen her invested in.

It's been answered a lot, but I'll add to the chorus: World. The games are something you'll need to get your teeth into, so don't be afraid to look up guides. Think of using each weapon as a different char in a fighting game, it'll help. You're fine to pick one and stick with it.

As a kid we once got a rabbit and my mum didn't think my dad would be wholly approving until he got to know it but thought "fuck it". When he walked in from work, I immediately said "We haven't got a black rabbit" and there was an argument

I found out about this a few months ago, and was half-convinced it was a vocabulary issue (option 1, here) - I can remember places I know well, but have to kind of mentally trace the space to describe or remember a room, for instance. In games without maps I'm (figuratively/literally) totally lost!

I get this page when I go to www.spectator.co.uk/subscribe/ - weirdly it doesn't load properly when I'm in InPrivate mode - in which case I get the page loading exactly as the image you posted.

Reminds me of one of my favourite Futurama jokes: Farnsworth: "Uranus? We stopped calling it that centuries ago, the source of so many immature jokes" Fry: "Oh, what do you call it now?" Farnsworth: "Urectum"

Years ago, had an apple tree in the back yard - laughed lots watching a couple of older lasses from up the street - that I've been friendly with forever - trying to secretly nick some. Kinda nice to know that somewhere in the terraces around Shakespeare Street, scrumping still happens
