Jake Higgins @jhiggins2987.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I ended up bumping the combat difficulty in Silent Hill: Townfall down to story because I've just been finding the stealth gameplay more frustrating than tense in a fun way, and so far I'm having a much more enjoyable experience. Jake Higgins @jhiggins2987.bsky.social · 28/09/2026I was hoping there'd be an accessibility option to disable the motion controls and just let me move the thing around with the sticks, but unless I missed it, there doesn't seem to be one. Would be greatly appreciated if Screen Burn and Konami thought about adding an option to disable that. 000
Jake Higgins @jhiggins2987.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Mild mechanical spoilers for early game of Silent Hill: Townfall: You have to fine-tune a signal with the CRTV by roltating the PS5 controller at a perfect angle, and then hold it there while you do other inputs. It genuinely hurt my hands and I really hope there aren't too many more of those. 210
Jake Higgins @jhiggins2987.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I'm only a couple hours in but I'm wondering if I'm gonna land similarly, having it be so stealth-focused in a similar vein to Alien Isolation isn't usually my vibe, but I wanna stick with it, I'm sure it opens up more as you go along like most of these games do. 010

Jake Higgins @jhiggins2987.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Silent Hill: Townfall is very cool so far. They're nailing the series' signature atmosphere and tone so far, and I think the perspective shift to first-person has been really nice. Jake Higgins @jhiggins2987.bsky.social · 23/09/2026I just feel like this game has such an unfair target on its back and I feel for the devs at Insomniac who have to see this shit. Jake Higgins @jhiggins2987.bsky.social · 22/09/2026And on top of that, it looks really bleak for Ninja Theory. Having just played Hellblade earlier this year, that team was really something special and it infuriates me that Microsoft would rather light money on fire with their AI bullshit than actually give a fuck about anyone making these games. 000
Jake Higgins @jhiggins2987.bsky.social · 22/09/2026How the fuck do you put out a Halo remake that was supposed to be a stepping stone to new games in the franchise and then turn around and gut the team who was supposed to make it, reducing them to a support studio while also handing the keys to a completely different studio? It's just exhausting. 100
