@robwords.com thank you rob for this new video on surnames. that oxford reference you showed...lead me to the first explanation for my surname. which ironically enough, i'm currently doing a mentorship on comic book writing and i used the family myth of our surname as a plot point for a short script

Was looking for a reference book and found this comic. had completely forgotten I had this book on Pope John Paul II, from 1982. Someone had given it to me for my collection in the early 2000s.

cover of 1982 marvel comics book about the life of Pope John Paul II. Image is of the pope standing with open arms at a balcony with the seal of the vatican on a cloth hanging in front of him.

@jesszafarris.com after watching video on word of magic etc, I was reminded of singer Lisa Gerrard from Dead Can Dance. She sings in her own language which just sounds "ancient". Ex is Gladiator soundtrack in mainstream for her work. Known as idioglossia.

@jesszafarris.com if you haven't read it yet, I'd highly recommend Kingdom of Characters by Jing Tsu. Finished it recently and it was a fascinating dive into the process of trying to bring Chinese writing into the modern age from typewriters to digital formats.

Was on backorder but got my copy of Monstress Compendium today in mail. 1152pgs and heavy enough it may destroy my power wheelchair if I move with it. Weekend reading is set.

Monstress Compendium on my desk with a pen for scale and my hand at bottom.

Got a rare double decker cat situation. Guess I'll never go to bed. And die of overheating from 2 cats worth of body heat. At least it's adorable.

Orange cat and a gray cat stacked together on my lap and chest, trapping me forever in cuteness
