The federal presence in Minnesota has been especially tough on our local businesses. Choosing to shop local, grab takeout, or visit a neighborhood store is one way we can stand with our neighbors and continue to show the nation what it means to respond with care and decency.

You know that Ilhan Omar won Minneapolis by more than 50pts in 2024, right? 😄 The 260 random Mpls residents defending our neighbors from ICE would be quick to implement universal healthcare and pre-k, free community college, etc. You know, taking care of our neighbors.

I just spoke with the White House after another horrific shooting by federal agents this morning. Minnesota has had it. This is sickening. The President must end this operation. Pull the thousands of violent, untrained officers out of Minnesota. Now.

Wind chill of -40F forecast for Friday in Minneapolis... Cars will struggle to start, and frostbite sets in within 15min. Nature has joined the resistance against ICE.

Yup. In the south metro suburb where I teach, ICE is just sitting at Kwik Trip checking the papers of anyone who comes for gas who isn't white, and abducting those who can't prove citizenship on the spot

Lomabonita supermercado is a new gem in Richfield! It was an old Rainbow foods that sat vacant for years before immigrants came in with a vision and more than a year of hard work to make a new grocery store a reality. ICE has been patrolling their parking lot, glad to see the Gov give them some love

Trick is to leave your under-sink cabinets open so the heat gets to the pipes better 👍

Upcoming forecast bottoms out at -15F on Saturday

We welcome support in investigating and prosecuting crime. But pulling a PR stunt and indiscriminately targeting immigrants is not a real solution to a problem. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/02/u...

To our Somali community -- we love you and we stand with you. That commitment is rock solid"

This is an issue with today's trope obsession... the metric is very much "Did this book meet my expectations?" Sure, those books can be fun. But sometimes I want a book that tears apart my expectations and builds something new in the rubble!

www.etsy.com/listing/1239... These are great because they're cotton and they don't slip however you wrap/tuck/knot them. The 30" worked for me for lightweight coverage, and the 35/36" was better for doing cool head wrap styles that had some volume and didn't look like chemo style

It's always bugged me reading books where the male love interest has black hair and blue or green eyes. Not likely! Then I married my literary pet peeve 🤣 (I mean for real, what are the genetic odds of true black hair and seaglass eyes???)

The best reaction to trolls is no reaction. In education, we say to "put down the rope." If someone is looking for tug-of-war, you don't have to pay along. If they're harassing someone else, best response is probably still to ignore them BUT ALSO respond with kindness and support to their target

PS - If you've been duped into thinking you've got a relationship with ChatGPT, cut the cord. There are so many real people to connect with on BlueSky and elsewhere with the same skill set you used to 'communicate' with the chatbot. The fountain pen people are lovely, if you need a place to start!
