And the train is moving again (straight back to the yard)

Looks like it took quite a bit of effort to get it pulled out from under the front of the train, but they finally succeeded in pulling it free a couple minutes ago

Me, 15 minutes ago: "Well, at least the ongoing bent-signal-pole-blocking-trackway issue on the south segment won't affect my trip to the eastside this evening" Link light rail:
2 Line trains are sharing one track from Redmond Technology Station to Marymoor Village Station until further notice due to a mechanical issue near Marymoor Village. Please board all trains on the platform to Lynnwood City Center.

That pedestrian path to/from Stadium station there, via RB Way, feels needlessly circuitous too. Like, I suppose it's gotta have a big giant dumb spiral because cars need to do big curves to get to the freeway. But was it really infeasible to put in a direct set of stairs anywhere near 4th Ave S?
Pedestrian path along Royal Brougham Way, between T-Mobile Park vicinity and Stadium station, featuring stairs on the west end of the rail overpass but then a big dumb circuitous loop ramp on the east end, because cars

I was so tickled back when I first realized that LRVs 201 and 203—some of the very first series 2 units to be delivered—still use the series 1 style of floor (plain gray with textured walkway areas) rather than the usual series 2 style (speckled paint and smooth surfaces).

Looks like there was a crash on the floating bridge a little before 4:30pm, which caused I-90 E to back up solid all the way to I-5 until a bit past 6:00pm. And then the map apps presumably told all of the I-5 to I-90 E drivers to exit at Dearborn and use the Rainier onramp for a "faster route".

One officer was by the slip lane, allowing/stopping right-turners. But there was another officer (pictured here), positioned just after the intersection, directly in front of the bus stop, standing between the NB lanes, whose job was to yell at drivers to continue all the way down in the bus lane.
Rainier Ave S, as seen from the NB bus stop just north of the intersection with S Genesee St this afternoon (Sun Aug 2).

An SPD officer is standing between the left (general-purpose) lane and the right (bus) lane, motioning and yelling at drivers and specifically instructing them to continue all the way down the bus lane.

I was waiting for the 7 today. This was an intentional thing. SPD had set up cones so that cars turning right onto Rainier Ave S from S Genesee St had to turn directly into the bus lane, rather than into the left/GP lane; and then they also had a few officers standing there directing traffic.
Rainier Ave S and S Genesee St, as seen from the NB bus stop just north of the intersection this afternoon (Sun Aug 2).

There are about half a dozen cones lined up on the lane line between the left (general-purpose) lane and the right (bus) lane, right where the slip lane merges into Rainier Ave S, such that drivers turning right must turn directly into the bus lane, rather than into the left/GP lane.

(Some of those cones are obscured by a car in this photo, but you can see the two closest ones. There are some other cones also visible in this shot, which were there to block off the left-turn lane.)

I looked through all my photos from the past couple of months and found these 10. (A few of these might not actually be of signs you worked on, but I included ones where I wasn't 100% sure anyway.)

But I'm sure we'll get the Woojins before too long. 🙂

One funny unintended consequence of the Metro Match Day Shuttle being called "Metro Match Day Shuttle" is that the realtime arrival displays tried to fit that entire string into the box for the route number, resulting in this silliness. (I'm sure this is easily fixable, but I found it amusing.)
Photo from Mon Jun 15 of a ConnectPoint realtime arrival display featuring big bold boxes for "H", "C", "125", etc, but then also some boxes containing teeny tiny nearly-unreadable text—a result of trying to render the literal string "Metro Match Day Shuttle" and scale that text to fit the width of the boxA closeup view of the prior photo

I also ran into one of the Metro Match Day Shuttles back on Monday that said route 605 (didn't get the best photos of it) Is 605 the true "secret" underlying route number for the MMDS? (Much like how, say, 1 Line shuttle is route 97?) Or is 605 actually the wrong number entirely?

@sound-transit.bsky.social This year-old sign, dating from before the opening of both the Federal Way and Crosslake extensions, is somehow still prominently on display in the pathway from the airport to SeaTac/Airport station
Photograph taken on the night of June 14 2026, of signage on the wall of the airport parking garage pathway to SeaTac/Airport station, entitled "Landmarks in Seattle via Link"

The signage depicts a system map consisting solely of the 1 Line, with Angle Lake as its southern terminus

It also helpfully provides last-departure-to-Seattle times which were valid during Mar–Aug 2025, but which are now wrong

@sound-transit.bsky.social The bike map at Redmond Tech station appears to be telling me that the 1 Line now extends to the eastside I look forward to the 4-minute combined peak headways from interlining 🙃

It's reminiscent of this bit of wrong signage that was up for like a month or two
Sign outside of IDS depicting it as stop number 52, which is wrong (these signs were recently fixed to show 53 instead)

@sound-transit.bsky.social The in-vehicle displays featuring the combined 1+2 Line station symbols are inconsistent about whether IDS is stop 53 or 52 At Stadium, IDS is allegedly 52 (wrong) Once en-route to IDS, it changes and shows 53 (correct) It's a bit baffling that this can even happen
Approaching or at Stadium station: Next stop is IDS, stop number 52 (wrong)After Stadium station: Current stop is IDS, stop number 53 (correct)

Over at Roosevelt station, I swear there's ALWAYS an official ST vehicle parked in such a way as to entirely block off the sidewalk on NE 66th And they literally rebuilt that sidewalk as part of station construction… but then I guess they decided that sidewalks are for ST vehicles, not pedestrians
A nice wide 15-foot sidewalk on NE 66th St, directly adjacent to Roosevelt station, entirely blocked off by a parked Sound Transit service/maintenance pickup truck of fairly monstrous proportionsThe same nice wide 15-foot sidewalk on NE 66th St, directly adjacent to Roosevelt station, entirely blocked off by a parked Sound Transit security vehicle

In this one case, I can kinda forgive the sign having incorrect times, because it seems like this particular service suspension has changed SEVERAL times since it was first announced (possibly more times than I even have screenshots demonstrating; and also including a pretty last-minute change)
