Tonight @jgchayko.bsky.social and I are celebrating 6 years of marriage. We climbed out of bed early to get married in a pandemic with very close friends, today we climbed Montmarte to celebrate with a few 100 people who happened to be in Paris. Thank you for the past, the present and our future.

Today's writers field trip takes me down some of the most beautiful streets of Vancouver to a hidden little bunker where the Vancouver Archives are housed. I am now officially registered as a researcher - going back in time.

I've been busy - performing, writing, revising, research, a judge for the Book Awards for B.C. Authors & choreography. This summer, I want to read novels, scribble notes at outdoor cafes, cook nourishing food, meet up with friends, go exploring and fill the well. That's a plan. Happy Friday ❤️

The weather changed dramatically with thunder and lightning strikes, so I woke with a headache. Eagle arms and breath work to the rescue to bust up that tension in the upper back, shoulders and neck. Back to the writing desk today, so headache be gone 🧘‍♀️

Recovering from a migraine means no writing on the computer, no big thinking projects like the grant I'm writing, not even edits on my crime novel today - just light essay scribbling in a notebook, some soothing peppermint oil and light reading in a cozy blanket. Recovery days are precious ❤️

One of my favorite things about writing is research. I have travelled around the world and to places in my own backyard for research. Recently I read a pile of letters from my grandfather to my granny - behold, the house where my granny lived in the 1930's. Built in 1926. I love my work. ❤️
