The only upside is making fun of the one team that doesn't make it.

And like, while the worst team isn't usually historically bad there is often a clear cut worst team. So...

The most extreme version of this is probably 13 games? Nothing out east and no BC? Hope Coan or someone else can keep you better than one team?

100

A thought I've had, if you're the Riders and if Harris doesn't want to retire. You decide to run it back (I'm not sure there's a better option) considering the stupid playoff format next year, you do some load management with Harris, right? Probably applies to Winnipeg and maybe Hamilton too.

I think I'm putting in Jack Coan at this point

Imagine telling Deion Sanders at the height of his playing days he'd be hawking adult diapers in 2026.

Joel Gasson @jgasson.bsky.social · 10h

Obviously an extreme example but that Alexander miracle play is sort of thing the Riders are missing on offence. Everything has to click or it's nothing.

One thing I wouldn't do against a QB who is struggling to move around and extend drives is rush 2.

020

Don't finish drives and you're gonna have a bad time.

000

The actual stadium at McGill is a dump but damn that setting is something else.

030

11am is such a perfect kickoff time.

And don't punt when you have to get a yard to win the game.

000

Remember the punt when LSU could have won the game?

000

Hell ya Kentucky. Keep playing to win, baby

100

Had Lane not punted, they'd have time to win this in regulation still.

000

Whenever the colour analyst is imploring you to punt and "trust your defence," go for it.

At least you punted, Lane.

000

As three teams in the west all do their best try and be the one that doesn't make the playoffs, it's also an excellent reminder that the only playoff races people really care about are in or out. The CFL all but killed that starting next season.

020

Imagine next year when the equivalent of Calgary, Winnipeg, Saskatchewan and Hamilton make the playoffs with ease.

You always go for the TD first but especially when you need a two point convert.

000

I've long believed if playoffs were purely for competition and not profit, only 4 CFL teams should make the playoffs. This season is only further enhancing that thought.

Just bring in the sports balloons. Anything specific? No.

Very nice that TSN clarified that Ottawa is winless on the road. Never would have known.

170

Reviewing penalties only makes it messier. Enough.

000

If you defer in a dome you should also lose choice in the 2nd half.

100

I feel like there's so much available nhl now that Saturday is just another day. Like how the NFL has watered down their national inventory

000

I don't understand why the double is tonight and not tomorrow

The Riders have more non garbage time touchdowns. Which is sad.

Vince buying wcw for the archive but without the archive.

He was released today, so presumably they could have readded him

Joel Gasson @jgasson.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

I'm not sure you can donate your way into that one.

1pm is the optimal time for any football game.

Unfortunately for Rider fans they'll have to decorate now instead of just projecting the game. That would have been scary enough

I do appreciate Quebec's ability to toss a government of any stripe to the thrash heap, however.

100

First past the post is beyond broken

I'm not sure there's enough funding to secure NHL rights given the current price point but the irony in everyone saying the cbc is irrelevant and should be sold while also whining about this is something.

It's funny how much less tired you are after a day of housework that is actually more work than a day at work.

Indeed but more so @fraserpxp.bsky.social agreed to partake in more horrific egg nog and mayo based cocktails for charity. So, his end is near.

That's what someome who rigged the system would say

There's gonna be some of that for John.

Yellow is trash, so of course it got recalled.
