The only mistake I think Amnesty made, which I've seen other allies and orgs make as well, is underestimating the level of hatred and organization of the anti trans side. Cis people really don't understand just how bad it is and are often caught unprepared for the attacks when they become the target

Boston -

What can I say?
Yesterday was one of the coolest days of my life. From a full feature in The Boston Globe to one of the most joyful and cathartic shows I’ve played in recent memory.

It took me a while to feel like Boston was home, after moving here from Philly in 2017. The Lizard Lounge and the music community I found there through the old songwriter open mic was truly the first thing to make me feel like I belonged, and sharing this record in that space, with so many of the artists/friends I met there years ago was such a brilliant “wrinkle in time” moment for me.

Thank you to everyone who came out—folks I know and those I don’t. Thank you to my absolutely UNREAL band. Alex, Adam, Andrew, Chris, and Josh. My boys. You really do make me feel like the most powerful, kickass frontwoman, and I want to make so much more music with you all.

Thank you for seeing me. Thank you for letting me be the little goth girl witch rockstar I dreamed of being when I was 16.

And now, I have to rest these aging bones. My middle-aged hip is a little cranky with me this morning, but she’ll get over it. She’ll have to. There’s a lot more dancing and raging in her future.
