Well, kids don’t have medical care & can’t go to the doctor like us. They don’t get to go to school like you & learn & play. They don’t have enough food or water or a safe place to live.

I feel my heart breaking. I can’t tell my son it’s some natural disaster. That there’s not enough food or medicine in the world. It’s that grown-ups are keeping these basic human rights away from children. It’s a choice.

As someone who has lived in a state of remodel for years, this is a flawed analogy. What’s happening is more like someone turning your home into a parking garage while you’re living there because they want to make $$.
