THE DIVIDING SKY x HELL FOLLOWED WITH US A glitching world, a grieving family, and a queer 16-year-old girl fighting off the voice in her head—before she becomes the prototype for a disgraced inventor’s next evolution of control. ✨⚡️ #PosterPit #Q #YA #SPF #T
A movie style poster for the novel GLITCH. Up top, the character names are written:

Lea Rigby
Arthur Jove
Luke Rigby
Alek Rigby

Then: A Novel By Jessica Junqua

Two blurbs with vines enclosing them—

“Vividly Imagined and Emotionally Compelling”
And
“A Book About Siblings, Survival, and Selfhood in a World That Has Forgotten What It Means To Be Human”

Towards the bottom, we get the title GLITCH in a static type of font. At the very bottom—

A YA Dystopian Thriller
Now in the Query Trenches

In the poster itself, we see three characters—Alek, Luke, and Lea Rigby. Lea’s eye is covered with a glitching butterfly. Surrounding them are vivid colors and streaks of static.

A glitching world, a grieving family, and a queer 16-year-old girl fighting off the voice in her head—before she becomes the prototype for a disgraced inventor’s next evolution of control. ✨✨✨ For fans of THE DIVIDING SKY and HELL FOLLOWED WITH US. #questpit #Q #YA #S #T #DYS
A collage of 5 pictures: three figures in darkness, a glitching city, a beautiful autumn road in the Catskills Mountains, and the image of two individuals on a road trip. Then in text: Glitch by Jessica Junqua

The pitch: After a mysterious explosion fractures sixteen-year-old Lea Rigby’s reality—glitching entire towns and leaving survivors zombified in tech headsets—she escapes with her older brothers, the only family she has left. While static spreads across the sky and buildings blink in and out of existence, Lea clings to joy, to adventure, and to the role of holding her broken family together. But when a disgraced inventor—Arthur Jove—injects her with a prototype implant meant to replace the headsets he created, Lea’s mind begins to turn against her. Now haunted by static-filled visions, a voice that isn’t hers, and the fear that her body no longer belongs to her, Lea must fight to stay herself. If she loses, she won’t just be consumed—she’ll be weaponized.

Glitch is a story about siblings, survival, and selfhood in a world that’s forgotten what it means to be human.

Then in bolded letters: 92,000 words - YA Dystopian Thriller w/ Speculative Tech Elements.

#Amaryllis She's a former Broadway star on the run from a scandalous past. He's a forgotten film actor who pushes everyone away. When a media circus runs riot over their so-called "relationship", they might just find in each other the healing they never knew they needed. #bluepit💥 #YA #A #R #W
Image of a woman in an empty theatre, she has a red dress and is holding an amaryllis flower.

The title is "AMARYLLIS", the text surrounding it says "Enemies to fake dating to lovers", "the broody one is soft for the fiery one", "cozy, vulnerable romance about overcoming difficult pasts", and "it's *exactly* what you think it is"Image of a woman in a red dress sitting on a stone wall.

The text says:
"When Maylee became the assistant to famed actor Mr. Dorian Ashby, the last thing she expected was for the media to run riot over their supposed "relationship".

Now she's stuck pretending to date the most prickly man to ever grace the silver screen, all while trying to outrun her scandalous Broadway past.

But maybe he could be one she's been searching for this whole time. Someone at last who can help her heal."Image of a man in a nice suit standing on a street corner.

The text reads:
"When Dorian Ashby reluctantly hired Maylee to be his assistant, the last thing he expected was to be caught in the camera's lense with her and thrust into the centre of a media circus.

Now he's stuck in yet another relationship made up for the spectacle and this time with a headstrong woman who seems to want nothing more than to push his buttons.

But maybe she could be the one he's been searching for this whole time. Someone at last he can trust with his bruised and vulnerable heart."

A purple background with light colored stars. The text reads "An Agent's Guide to Starfallen By: Nia Brown YA Low Fantasy 115K Words" At the very bottom is the tagline "The sun by day. The moon by night. Recite these words. Release the light. This post is split into two sections. On the left side is a collage of eight square images. The only problem? It’s just a kid that can hardly control its magic. She teams up with her (maddeningly) charming childhood friend, Khalil Kirkwood, to protect the star which is being hunted by forces both human and celestial. But there are other odd happenings. Under, Where the Dark Stands Still, it reads Lush Atmosphere and Unsettling Forest. On a blue background is a navy rectangle. At the top of it in blue capital letters it reads Opening Scene and is framed by stars on either side. Beneath it is a screenshot of a scene which reads:

Jada Fraser always found herself on the wrong side of the law. Today was no exception. The contents of her bag beat against her back with every pounding step. Binoculars, camera, and her trusty notepad—everything she needed to procure proper proof.
“Stop! You’re trespassing on private property!”
A glance over her shoulder revealed an officer hot on her heels. He raised his arms, leveling a taser directly at her back.
“Any further and I’ll fire!”
Jada dove behind a tree, just in time to hear a sharp whine pierce the air.
Silver wires struck a nearby trunk and electricity crackled beneath the bark.
The acrid scent spurred her back into motion.
Through the branches, she finally caught a glimpse of blue. If she could just reach the lake, she’d finally prove to everyone that something strange was going on—that she wasn’t crazy.
“This is your last chance!” the officer shouted.
He was right. This was her last chance. She couldn’t afford to stop now.

Three musical moments from “Glitch,” a YA dystopian thriller about siblings, survival, and selfhood in a world that’s forgotten what it means to be human. #PlaylistPitch #YA #SF #DYS #T #Q Credits: -Radioactive by Imagine Dragons -Hushabye Mountain by the Sherman Brothers -Float On by Modest Mouse
Glitch by Jessica Junqua (An Excerpt)

It's getting darker now, the light-gray sky dimming to a sinister slate. Alek coughs up front, swiping his nose with his wrist. Luke is tapping his fingers against his thumb, one after the other. We're silent, but we're together.

As I look to the ashy sky, the song "Radioactive" plays in my head again.

Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Welcome to the new age, to the new age
Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh, whoa, oh, oh, oh, I'm radioactive, radioactive

"Alek?" I call out in a whisper.

"Lea?" he responds right away.

"Can you sing to me... like you used to?" The last time I asked for him to sing me a
lullaby, I must have been in middle school. I expect him to refuse. There's a myriad of reasons he'd give. Too late, too tired, he didn't want to wake up Luke…..

"A gentle breeze from Hushabye Mountain. Softly blows o'er Lullaby Bay. It fills the sails
of boats that are waiting. Waiting to sail your worries away."

I'm shocked. I shouldn't be so surprised but considering how irritable and tired Alek has been lately, the fact that he's singing my lullaby right now with his soft, slightly raspy singing voice, it almost makes me emotional again, but I hold it back and just listen.

"It isn't far to Hushabye Mountain. And your boat waits down by the quay. The winds of
night so softly are sighing. Soon they will fly your troubles to sea."

I'm fading fast. As Alek reaches the end, I finally allow my eyes to flutter closed.

"So close your eyes on Hushabye Mountain. Wave goodbye to cares of the day. And
watch your boat from Hushabye Mountain. Sail far away from Lullaby Bay."

I don't remember the last time we swam together at a beach. Or just had a normal day. My brothers are smiling. I'm smiling. Luke does 'water ballet' to make us laugh. Alek sneaks up behind me, and next thing I know, I'm flying in the air with a squeal before cannonballing into the water. Both brothers laugh hysterically as I come up and spit out salt-water. I enact my revenge by diving under and ever-so-lightly brushing by Alek's ankles. That leads to a good kick in the chest, a million apologies, and an additional splash for scaring him.

Once we have our fill of splashing and playing, we float on our backs, feeling the sun's warmth on our faces. The static is gone, the whispering gone. Oh...this is perfect. As I float lazily, staring up atthe sky, I close my eyes and think about what the theme song would be for this moment. I ponder...and then it comes to me.

"And we'll all float on, okay...and we 'll all float on, okay...and we 'll all float on, okay..."

"Float On" by Modest Mouse. Absolutely.

Literally that’s #Glitch in a nutshell! When a mysterious explosion glitches entire towns & leaves survivors zombified in headsets, 16 y/o Lea Rigby escapes with her two older brothers. But let’s pretend this is before the events of the novel… ✨ #BluePitHype #WritingCommunity #BluePit #AmQuerying
A black, purple, and blue colored graphic made in Canva featuring my three main characters (Lea, Luke, and Alek Rigby) that are featured in my novel Glitch. Up top the question the siblings are answering: What would you do if the world was ending?

In order of text bubbles:

Lea: Would my brothers be with me? Because that’s what’s important to me. Rigbys stick together.

Luke: What is this, 2012? But I mean, if the world was ending, I’d hurry home. Help Alek with preparing. Make sure Lea is okay.

Alek: Geez. Um…I’d make sure my siblings are safe. I’m their guardian after all. They are everything to me, and I don’t know how I could live if something happened to them.

I decided to try something different and have my Rigby siblings share their skills, texting style. ✨☺️ #BluePitHype #WritingCommunity #BluePit #Glitch #AmQuerying
A graphic featuring my three main characters (Lea, Luke, and Alek Rigby) from my novel Glitch sharing what their skills are for BluePitHype. It looks as though they are texting each other.

The dialogue:

Lea: I love to write, and can play the guitar. I wish I was better at speaking in public. Then I could feel like my voice is being heard.

Luke: I guess I’m a good artist.

Lea: Shut up, you’re a great artist!

Luke: Fine, a great artist. I wish I could drive a car. That way, Alek didn’t have to drive us all of the time.

Alek: I can build guitars and other musical instruments. I wish I could go back to school to get my high school diploma…that counts as skill, right?

Lea: My role models are my older brothers, Alek and Luke. I admire their strength. Alek’s is loud & clear, while Luke’s is quiet, but fierce. They’ve given up so much to take care of me, & I hope that I can be as strong as them one day. ✨ #BluePitHype #WritingCommunity #BluePit #Glitch #AmQuerying
A character portrait for my novel Glitch. The portrait is on my main protagonist Lea Rigby. (Drawn by Julia Parks) Lea has short, curly brown hair, brown eyes, and pale skin. She is wearing a purple Evanescence T-shirt and blue pants. The name LEA is in white font and in the picture, she looks like she is glitching…perhaps a hint for what’s to come?

THE LAST TO LET GO x HELL FOLLOWED WITH US x SHAMELESS (TV) A glitching world, a grieving family, and a queer 16yo girl battling the voice in her head—before she becomes the prototype for a disgraced inventor’s next evolution of control. #MiseryPit #YA #DT #Q
A collage/moodboard for my novel Glitch which I’m pitching through MiseryPit. It features thriller inspired images (like robots, headsets, mind control, etc.), pictures of sibling trios, static, and quotes like “we’ll protect each other.” “we don’t have a lot, but we’ve got each other.” And “if you don’t control your mind, someone else will.”

A screenshot of text. White background, black text.

"Jesus," Rosalie mutters as we step outside and we're smacked in the face by icy wind.
"Seriously can't wait for spring."
"Me too," I reply, voice also low as I jam my fists into my coat pockets. Rosalie speeds
ahead, and I guess that's just normal in New York City. The streets reek of weed, urine, and
pollution so I tuck my nose into my scarf. Every car honk, motorcycle roar, and loud voice has
me flinching like a skittish cat. The crowds swallow us up and my hands tremble, desperately
wishing to latch into Rosalie's coat so I don't lose her.
She's just so...confident. Helps when you've lived here all your life. Like a ninja, she
slides past every person, every crowd. Crosses streets, even if the lights are red. Ignores a man
who whistles at her.
That's when I catch her glazed over eyes. Her rigid posture, and heavy footsteps against
the dirty, cracked sidewalk. The "don't fuck with me" aura. I'd give anything to have just a sliver
of that. Then I wouldn't care so much about anything.
Charlie is also confident, but thinking of her only twists the knife deeper. Then again,
what does that say about me? Little baby Olive, too scared to function. My sister and Rosalie are
more competent than me. Things have got to change.
"You okay?" I ask eventually, since she's been silent this entire time. We turn down a
street and it's quieter. Tall white-brick buildings and barren trees surround us on either side.
"Hm?" Rosalie snaps from her spell. "Oh... yes. Are you?”

Querying can be brutal. I love my book. I’ve worked on it for years. But the silence and rejections still hit hard. Some days I question everything. But I’m still here. Still writing. If you’re feeling this too—you’re not alone. #amquerying #writingcommunity #writer

Writers, real talk: Can having adult side characters (22-30) in a YA book hurt its marketability, even if the teen MC (16) is the clear POV & emotional center? I’ve heard mixed takes from various sources. Any insight on here? ✍🏻 #amquerying #writingcommunity #writer #YA #writing
