But you will save yourself a ton of hassle and time by learning how to properly research and search. Also its great when you are working on learning a character because sometimes finding information about an environment or learning about history can build on a character.

You can learn a ton just going on the VAC Discord and using Discord's search feature. Need a mic? Search recommended mic and voila you will see tons of answers. Learning to find correct information from experts independently is vital. Its fine to ask questions

2.) Research - Being able to research and find answers to things on your own is vital and will save you a ton of time and headache. Just make sure you are searching in the right places. Search Engines, Discord Search bar, Reddit search. Many questions have been answered

1.) Reading - By far one of the most important things to have as a voice actor. You will be reading scripts, casting docs, contracts, agreements, NDAs, etc etc... Being able to read and comprehend these things is vital to succeeding as a voice actor. Practice your reading

I don't think you "need" to register to a specific place or thing, but those types of things help you be fair and is a commitment to do things to be fair.

Strike Talk: The studio proposals are SO grimy. Here's a direct example that they clarified in negotiations: If they prompt an LLM with 'Harrison Ford', he gets a chance to refuse, all sorts of protections, pay, etc. If they prompt with 'Indiana Jones', he gets NOTHING. They can just take it.

One of these scammers was on a voice acting discord offering a free MacBook. They were in another voice acting discord as well. If someone is legit giving something away they will typically be willing to share general info on where it's being shipped from so you can verify cost

Scam alert - If someone offers you a free something and says they won't ship it unless you pay first it is likely a scam. If they truly are offering it for free to help out they will be willing to pay shipping first and get you verifiable tracking.

Do you have an audio sample you could share of the popping? Also could your laptop perhaps have a different sample rate or bitrate setup in the windows setting than what your DAW is setup to? I know that can cause that to happen at times.
