Counter point--if you are Cardona you are getting off the grind of the indies, having to make your own bookings, work your own angles, do your own promotion, etc. After doing that for a while I can see the appeal of just turning your brain off and doing whatever WWE wants.

Best show I've ever seen live and the main event was the best match I've ever seen live. I remember Dave saying it was a five star match, but he didn't want to give it five stars because he thought it was so dangerous he didn't want to encourage other wrestlers to copy it.

It would be cool if AEW put together an annual thing for PAC--like a junior heavyweight tournament or something you can do with your partner promotions. Run it over a weekend in a smaller building.

Since WWE's trying to exploit PAC's death, it's time to talk about this: Remember how PAC suddenly had visa issues when AEW started? That's because, when the AEW trademarks were filed, WWE called USCIS to claim he walked out on his visa. After leaving him alone for a year and giving him his release.

Great work, Jesse. Your early quote about loving flying wrestlers, admiring Rich Swann, and a promoter saying "Man, you haven't seen PAC then" sounds like something I might have said. :) Didn't know him until the "Neville" days but the love was instant and permanent. He was intensity & precision.

I wrote about first discovering PAC and how important he was as a wrestler that pushed high-flying further than people previously imagined.

I went through a phase where I tried to pronounce PAC like "Pawk" with a British inflection because the natural Boston-speak would be to pronounce it disgustingly, like "Paaahhhhk".

Jesse Collings @jessecollings.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

PAC was a guy who everyone kind of knew was underrated. He'd have another great match and you'd nod along and think "This guy has been as good as anybody over the past 15 years."

070

Jesse Collings @jessecollings.bsky.social · 28/09/2026

I just assumed the PAC news was fake when I first saw it. One of the most physically talented wrestlers ever who simply never had a bad match and wrestled all over the world. His heel Dragongate run was my favorite point in his career. His opening exchange with Andrade last night was amazing.

The reason why "Janel Grant feels forgiveness for Vince McMahon" was such an attractive headline is because for many fans they view Grant's sole usefulness as someone who can give them permission to like Vince again. That quote was catnip for them.

Jesse Collings @jessecollings.bsky.social · 22/09/2026

The main takeaway from the interview, for any person with a shred of empathy, was how the circumstances in Grant's life leading up to her meeting Vince made her a prime target for a predator like Vince to seek out and abuse. Not that she "feels forgiveness" for him.

Unpopular opinion, but I'm never really that enthralled with Mistico's in ring work. He's spectacular in many ways but all of his matches are basically removed from drama because he never loses. The Averno matched on the Aniversario match lacked drama to me because there was no chance Averno wins.

WWE inserting themselves as some kind of critical part of the nation healing is infuriating. They ran a show because Vince is a soulless ghoul who couldn't envision canceling a show when the rest of the world had stopped.

Bryan and Wheelchair Nigel talking about the lengths Ospreay/Omega were willing to go physically to be champion and how that worried both of them due to the physical risks that undermined both of their respective careers was such good shit, don't want that to get lost in how great the match was.

Today was one of those days were people had a preconceived fixed opinion on things, and no matter how great something objectively was, they'll still cross their arms and tell you it wasn't. Must be sad.
