I have an odd affection for old 35mm SLRs, too. I used Nikkormats for years and I can't see one today without wanting to hold it and peer through the viewfinder. I like my digital cameras but (sort of) miss the old days when I had work for the perfect shot.

It's almost like you can't put on a motorcycle show without antique Harleys. Personally they do nothing for me. I don't relate to the era, the styling leaves me cold, and it's pretty much the same models every time. Show me the bikes I grew up riding in the late '60s-early '70s and I'm there for it.

Not much I can do from Oregon except tell you to hang in there and never give up thinking you'll be OK and back on two wheels. What you're going though sucks, but remember, you're going *through* it, not staying there, and will come out the other side eventually.

My problem with comps is comparing my book to one written several years ago when even if it's accepted by an agent right away the market might change in the time it takes to place it with a publisher. Since it's a crapshoot anyway, why not just read the synopsis and base your decision on that?
