Be ready to update Twig and Symfony TODAY. Security issues are all the rage in the era of advanced LLMs! I’ve been deep in that tunnel for the past 10 days, finally seeing the light at the end 🥵

During the last few weeks, the #Symfony core team has been hard at work fixing a long list of vulnerabilities for both #Symfony and #Twig. Today, we're publishing that work in the biggest security patch releases ever. Bare with us and wish us luck 🍀

Environment variables cannot be used everywhere in the Symfony configuration because certain parameters are used when the container is compiled. Thanks to this fix by @nicolasgrekas.bsky.social, "locales" can now be set via environment variables.

I got a lot of positive feedback on my talk about queryable encryption with Doctrine at #Symfony_Live Paris. So I’m presenting it again in English for Symfony Online. I’ll cover cryptography best practices and the inner workings of the Doctrine ORM.

Sympa !

If you sort objects, the order is consistent, as soon as they are from the same class. Otherwise <=> returns always 1 for objects of distinct classes.

Change the order in which the properties are declared, you will see the result will be inversed.

GromNaN @jerome.tamarelle.net · 08/04/2026
I always thought that the order of properties in a #PHP class didn't matter, but that's not true. It does matter when comparing two instances of the same class. Each property is evaluated one after another in the order they were declared until the first difference is found. 3v4l.org/NTP5c

In the Symfony configuration, you can use `when@<env>` to set a different configuration value depending on the environment. What you're suggesting is pretty much the same thing. symfony.com/doc/current/...

GromNaN @jerome.tamarelle.net · 31/03/2026

Oh, that sounds dangerous. You set this up to request an API using credentials, and then you add a call to another public API. Without realizing it, the credentials for the first API will be exposed to the second one.
