I was so psyched to get to edit this one, first time working with Joshua since our Wild Wild Tech days! Great review too, he's a pro. Sorry to Splatoon Raiders but I'm glad to know not to bother with this one 🤷🏻‍♀️

heard a podcast mention the "looter shooter" and cannot help but imagine a world in which all video game genres must rhyme what kind of game is this? oh it's a "boring warring" game, a "survivor thriver", a "nation simulation"

Otherwise I was more likely to find video game books, like The History of the Pokemon Games (@jamesbatchelor.bsky.social?) or The Ultimate Guide to Fortnite:

Kept my eye out on our weekly round of Leamington charity shops today – slim pickings! But did find an unopened Garbage Truck Simulator (PC) in Scope:
A charity shop shelf containing CDs, DVDs, Blu-Rays, and various video games for PC and Xbox 360, e.g. Gears of War, FIFA 12, Garbage Truck Simulator.

I knew I'd love The Séance of Blake Manor but I managed to hold off on starting it until I could play it with my Irish friend (who also loves a spooky mystery) and it was so worth it – she's sharing so much historical context AND she's better than me at the puzzles www.youtube.com/watch?v=QF8s...

something I am learning about live radio is: you always always have more to say than you ever have time to get to. if you didn't, it wouldn't be a good idea for a programme. this is probably also true more broadly of "all the interesting things one wants to do in life"

Screenshot of text from linked article, which reads: "You might have noticed the sites in that last paragraph pay less than the mostly-American outlets we'd already covered. They're all British, where writers (across all media, not just games) are usually paid pretty poorly across the board, whether they're freelance or not."
