Absolute incompetence: Nearly two months after San Francisco installed the first of 33 speed safety cameras, city officials told KQED there is no expected date for all the cameras to be operational. www.kqed.org/news/1203991...

Just Over Half of SF’s Speed Cameras Are Operational. What’s With the Slowdown? | KQED
The cameras will be issuing $0 citations for the foreseeable future, while San Francisco tries to get all the cameras online.

It’s way too hard & expensive — & takes way too long — to build the things California needs to succeed, such as housing, transit, clean energy, child care centers, food banks, health clinics, new businesses. Today, a key Senate committee passed 2 major bills I’m authoring to help turn this around:

The California Coastal Commission approved the permit authorizing the closure of Upper Great Highway to private car traffic (aka converting the space into a park and public outdoor recreation space)! This is a massive step towards the creation a new, full-time oceanfront park 👏

Great Highway Park opponents said, “Put it to the voters…let the voters decide,” but changed their mind when the voters overwhelmingly voted to transform Upper Great Highway into a full-time, oceanfront park by approving Prop K. The voters have spoken—it’s time to move forward.
